Rhen Escaño takes pride in her acting projects

MANILA, Philippines — Rhen Escaño started her acting career 16 years ago when she appeared in director Soxy Topacio’s “Ded na si Lolo.” Since then, she has appeared in a number of challenging roles through the years.

She even bravely tried “bold” in director Roman Perez’s sexy-drama, “Adan” (2019), where she engaged in GL (girl’s love) scenes opposite Cindy Miranda.

Rhen was paired opposite Diego Loyzaga in EJ Salcedo’s crime drama, “Bullet Day,” that also topbilled Joel Torre. She played an ace assassin in Albert Langitan’s “Karma,” where Sid Lucero and Roi Vinzon shared stellar billing. Both films were shown in 2024.

She appeared in “My Amnesia Love” (2018), another film from direk Albert. The young actress got to work with director Yam Laranas in the sexy drama, “Paraluman” (2021), with Jao Mapa and Gwen Garci.

Rhen was reunited with direk Yam in the horror thriller, “Rooftop” (2022), with Ryza Cenon, Marco Gumabao, and Ella Cruz.

Now 27, Rhen takes pride in the films and TV series that she has done. She is also proud about her brand endorsements.

Memorable for her was visiting an Aeta community with children last year. They visited and provided aid to abused young women in Bulacan, where Rhen celebrated her birthday to personally show her commitment to helping those in need.

They also supported indigenous Aeta students in Bataan and contributed to their education.

Rhen saw a kid who refused to eat the spaghetti and chicken for him. Instead, the kid opted to bring home the food to his mom and sibling.

“The kid told me, ‘Gusto kong matikman ng kapatid ko at nanay ko, kaya iuuwi ko na lang ito,’” recalled Rhen. “That really touched me. That was really special to me. You really value your purpose being there. I’m so blessed. I witnessed the lives of the kids whom we visited.”

In her one year as ambassador, Rhen had joined in the outreach and community projects of CC6, including lending extended assistance to children with disabilities. For one, she participated in tree-planting activities in Rizal and Antipolo to promote environmental conservation.

Over the past year, CC6 Online Casino said it carried out community projects across different locations. They distributed grocery items and merchandise to landslide and flood victims in Davao del Norte and Marikina. They organized feeding programs in Makati, Cavite and Manila to support underprivileged communities. They also supported local sports activities like basketball leagues in various barangays of Cavite and Bulacan for youth development and community engagement.

They also provided financial and food assistance to tricycle drivers and supported the Balanga Lions Club in their medical mission for students in Bataan. Bicycles and school supplies were donated and feeding programs were conducted.
