Alex Gonzaga suffers 3rd miscarriage
MANILA, Philippines — Lipa City councilor Mikee Morada revealed that his wife Alex Gonzaga suffered her third miscarriage last December.
In his interview with Toni Gonzaga, Mikee said that their third pregnancy was unexpected.
“To be honest, kami ni Catherine (Alex), noong nalaman namin na pregnant siya, hindi namin talaga akalain, wala kaming plano,” he said.
“Ang plano namin, baka posibleng mag-prepare muna ng katawan, IVF (in vitro fertilization), pero naturally pa rin, gusto naming subukan,” he added.
Mikee said that they did regular checkups knowing that Alex was pregnant, until their third visit to the doctor.
“Doon sa pangatlong lingo, wala na namang laman, blighted ovum ulit,” he said.
"Bumagsak ulit [yung pakiramdam namin], pero mas kaya compared doon sa una kasi nakailan na kami eh,” he added.
They then opted for second opinion, in which Mikee turned emotional upon hearing their baby's heartbeat.
"Pagdating namin sa ultrasound na ‘yun, merong bata sa loob, may baby sa loob. Naiyak ako noong narinig ko 'yung heartbeat,” he added. “First time kong nakarinig ng heartbeat,” he said.
The baby's heartbeat, however, was lower than the average heartbeat.
“Nalaman namin na mababa ‘yung heartbeat, 65 lang, so that same day, pumunta kami sa hospital, tinry naming habulin, baka ma-save pa 'yung baby, ginawa namin lahat,” he said.
“Noong December 28, hindi ko makakalimutan ‘yun. Nakita na namin agad ‘yung embryo, pero wala na siyang heartbeat,” he fretted.
