It’s all about work and self-love for Ai-Ai delas Alas in 2025
MANILA, Philippines — Ai-Ai delas Alas has just wrapped up her regular stint as a judge and mentor to aspiring singers in the singing and reality search “The Clash.” This role, as one may call it, will carry on in the new year, aside from her being an actress and a performer.
“Yes, I think we have Season 7 in 2025 (and the airing may be sometime in) August,” said the Comedy Queen in a brief group interview with the press, following the event for Vbank and its app, of which she is an endorser.
“(With TV series), I think (I have) guestings,” added she, who played the role of a nanay driver in a weekend drama anthology last week. “Pero meron akong gagawing movie (I will be doing a movie but with whom), secret muna.”
“Tapos na yung ‘The Clash’ at eto nga (‘The Clash has concluded its recent season) I’m so blessed because I’m the ambassadress of Vbank. I’m so happy,” said she.
“God is good and maraming mga blessings na dumating and I hope until next year. Sabi nga ni ninong kasama ako sa mga movies ng mga Korean (artists).”
The ninong (godparent) Ai-Ai was referring to was Luis “Chavit” Singson, businessman and politician, who has recently launched an app that encourages everyone to save their hard-earned money and open an account. Vbank app allows one to send money, pay bills, load and cash in at Tambunting, CVM and Raquel Pawnshops, Puremart Convenience stores and other ECPay outlets nationwide, according to a piece of information given to this paper.
It adds that interested users may download the app and create an account. For updates, they can also follow Singson’s official Facebook page. Singson has also brought Korean artists to the Philippines. With that, he can venture into film production with Filipino and Korean artists in it.
For this Christmas, Ai-Ai said she will be doing charity work and staying at home with her family.
Come Feb. 3, she will fly back to the US and has work to do in January.
“Ganun pa rin uwi, uwi pa rin ako (I’ll be going back and forth between the States and the Philippines). If you have a green card, kailangan parati ka ring nanduon sa residence mo (when you’re a green card holder, you need to be in your residence),” said Ai-Ai of her current work setup or arrangement.
During the easy-breezy talk, Ai-Ai was also asked to describe her 2024 and said, “(It) is still a very good year for me because I also had a lot of shows in America). I think nagkataon lang yun. So, I’m still thankful. I’m grateful for the many blessings that are coming my way). I am thankful for being alive and still here, and being healthy. It’s such a blessing from God.”
As for the coming year, she said, “Lahat ng hula sa akin, bonggang, bongga ako sa 2025 (the forecasts show that I will have a fabulous year)” and she thought that the auspicious and promising year has already commenced.
Ai-Ai wants to do a movie for Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in its 2025 edition and return to the concert scene.
Following news of her separation, she said she’s focusing on self-care and self-love.
“I love myself very much. Ang dami (I’m doing many things related to it, such as) super dance, super gym, super pray, super sleep at super read, I read books on Kindle,” shared she, who also intends to travel to countries such as Bangkok, Japan and Korea,” she said.
“Super active, showbiz active ulit ako ngayon, trabaho and self-love (I’ll be super active and showbiz active this time and I will focus on work and self-love).”
