The much-anticipated Filipino sequel movie “Hello, Love, Again” starring Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, has been selected as the closing film for this year’s Asian World Film Festival (AWFF).

The festival, which aims to “celebrate exceptional Asian filmmakers and strengthen cultural ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries” will be held in Los Angeles, California and will run from Nov. 13 to 20.

AWFF organizers announced that the festival will open with the South Korean drama “A Normal Family” on Nov. 13, while “Hello, Love, Again” will take the spotlight on closing night, Nov. 20.

Aside from “Hello, Love, Again”, the AWFF lineup includes a diverse selection of acclaimed films from nearly 50 Asian countries including “In the Mood for Love” from Hong Kong, “The Wrestler” from Bangladesh, “Meeting with Pol Pot” from Cambodia, “The Antique” from Georgia, “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In” from Hong Kong, and “Lost Ladies” from India, among others.

Meanwhile, Filipino audiences can look forward to Hello, Love, Again’s local release in theaters nationwide on Nov. 13, the same day as AWFF’s opening in Los Angeles.

“Hello, Love, Again” is the sequel to the 2019 box-office hit “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” which captivated audiences with its story of two overseas Filipino workers — Joy and Ethan (played by Kathryn and Alden, now fondly called KathDen — who meet and fall in love in Hong Kong.

In this new installment, viewers will see the continuation of Joy and Ethan’s journey, five years after Joy leaves Hong Kong to pursue her dreams in Canada.
