Coldplay releases 'Jupiter' with Filipino fans' chants from Manila concert
MANILA, Philippines — One of the songs on British pop-rock band Coldplay's latest album "Moon Music" features the participation of Filipino audiences.
Last January, the band performed at the Philippine Arena for its "Music of the Spheres" tour, seven years since Coldplay last visited the country.
Toward the end of the concert, vocalist Chris Martin enlisted the help of the crowd to record a song, asking everyone to chant the words "love who you love."
The chants eventually made up the chorus of "Jupiter," a track about the titular woman who learns to accept who she is and who learns to love freely.
Recording label Warner Music Philippines shared a video recounting the moment Chris rallied the Filipino crowd, now immortalized in "Jupiter."
Martin recently confirmed that Coldplay would produce two more albums before officially retiring.
"Less is more and, for some of our critics, even less would be even more! It's really important that we have that limit," Martin said. "To make an album great as a band, it’s such a lot of wrangling of people, and I want to give the others some of their life for themselves."
