MANILA, Philippines — "Superstar" Nora Aunor filed her certificate of nomination and acceptance as the second nominee of the People's Champ party-list at the Manila Hotel on Monday, October 7.
In her speech, Nora explained that she accepted the nomination because she really wanted to help her countrymen and the entertainment industry.

"Sa kagustuhan ko pong makatulong sa ating mga kababayan, sa mga kasamahan ko sa industriya ng musika, industriya ng aking sining, sa entablado, kaya po ako naglakas ng loob. Gusto ko kasi talagang makatulong sa lahat lalo na sa ating mga kababayan," Nora said.
"Ang akin pong pasasalamat sa People's Champ partylist at sila po ang kumausap sa akin at tutulong sa aking pangarap na makatulong sa ating mga kababayan. Salamat po," she added.

Nora is the latest celebrity who filed her candidacy. Her "Bona" co-star Phillip Salvador filed his COC for Senate last October 3.
Nora's showbiz "rival", Vilma Santos, also filed her certificate of candidacy for the Batangas gubernatorial race, alongside her son Luis Manzano as vice governor and Ryan Recto as representative.
