Trigger warning: Mentions of depression
MANILA, Philippines — Actor James Reid said that he suffered depression due to bashing after he revealed his relationship with Issa Pressman.
In his interview with Ogie Diaz, James said that social media users believed that Issa was the reason of his breakup with Nadine Lustre.
James reiterated that Issa was not the reason of his breakup with his former on- and off-screen partner.
“It’s just the fans have a way of creating rumors and all of this stuff. Saying that like, inagaw or whatever, which makes no sense because I dated someone after Nadine anyway. Don’t ask me who," he said.
“It just doesn’t even make sense. But, you know, people will always make up their own stories.
“And I just try my best to live a life that I’m proud of so that I can sleep at night and just focus on my life and hopefully, people will just move on because they can see na happy naman kami, happy naman sila,” the actor added.
James hoped that people should have moved on from his relationship with Nadine.
“It’s been a very difficult year for me, also for Issa and I’m sure for Nadine also just with all the noise, all of the bashing. Sana people can move on from all of that," he said.
“To be very honest, for me witnessing all the bashing, nakaka-depress siya to be honest. And I hope people can move on and just please give us peace of mind,” he added.
