MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ first British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) and Golden Globe nominee Dolly de Leon, and first Olivier and Tony Awards Best Actress winner, Lea Salonga, joined in the conversation about two-time Olympics gold medalist Carlos Yulo and the family drama surrounding his win.
In a talk last Wednesday in Samsung Performing Arts Theater, Circuit Makati for their upcoming play “Request sa Radyo,” De Leon and Salonga were asked by Tony Award winner costume designer Clint Ramos, one of the play’s producers, on what gives them joy nowadays.

“Doing good work, travel and work at the same time. Spending time with friends, family,” Lea said, for which Dolly asserted with, “Same!”
“Being home! Carlos Yulo. Yan!” Dolly declared, earning cheers from the audience, which included theater and film students.
“Oh yes!” Lea shouted in agreement.
According to Lea, she is also amused by the country’s two female boxers, two golds by Yulo and “living a relatively drama-free, quiet, fulfilling life,” to which Dolly echoed with, “Agree!”
When Ramos emphasized “drama-free,” Lea elaborated: “Drama belongs on stage. Not in life!”
“Request sa Radyo” is a strictly limited engagement with 20 performances from October 10 to 20 in Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati City.
