Sabrina Carpenter is hot girl in the charts
The name may sound new to most of us but Sabrina Carpenter is no newcomer. To the hit charts, it may be so but she has been acting and modeling since she was nine-years old, was the star of Disney World’s ’s “Girl Meets World” and “Adventures in Babysitting” teen series, movies like “Tall Girl” and “Emergency” and has already recorded a few albums. But she is right now at the hottest phase of her career and is on the trajectory towards big time stardom.
For one there is her big hit song Espresso. Although it sounds like it the song, which she co-wrote, is not about the coffee. Espresso is plainly used as a nonsensical word. Thanks to that gorgeous sunshiny video of bronzed bodies on the beach though, Espresso has become an expression about girl power. You are the bitch girl, so might as well enjoy it, Espresso. And everybody loved it. Espresso.
Then there is the fact that Sabrina became Taylor Swift’s opening act in some areas for the famous “ERAS Tour.” It was Sabrina who audiences from Australia, Singapore and Latin America saw on stage while they were waiting for Taylor. That meant that everybody who bought tickets and came to watch Taylor also saw Sabrina. They liked what they saw and Sabrina’s songs like Nonsense and Fast Times rose in the hit charts. Such amazing good fortune, espresso.
And now comes Please, Please, Please. Now talk about clever marketing gimmickry. That bit of a tune playing from the horn of the police car at the end of the Espresso video is Please, Please, Please. This means that everybody who has listened to Espresso or watched the video has already been prepped to also like Please, Please, Please. The song still has to enter Billboard’s Hot 100 chart but it is almost a sure thing that it will follow Espresso which is still in the Top 10 in the No. 6 slot after many weeks.
Espresso and Please, Please, Please are the first two singles out of Sabrina’s upcoming album. Due in August, it is titled Short n’ Sweet and is expected to be another frothy pop concoction with lots of dance tracks. It is her follow-up to the very well received Emails I Can’t Send. Critics also loved that one and it includes Nonsense, the song that got her career on its fast up swing last year, plus Feather, Vicious, Skinny Dipping and others.
And now check out the rest of the Top 25 titles in the Hot 100 keeping Sabrina company: I Had Some Help by Post Malone ft.
