MANILA, Philippines — Prime Video is bringing its globally popular original series, “LOL: Last One Laughing,” to Southeast Asia, with upcoming adaptations from The Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.
According to Prime Video’s announcement news, the regional shows will be hosted by top comedic talents from their respective countries. Kapamilya star Vice Ganda is set to head the comedy show’s Philippine edition.
Prime Video also revealed that standup comedian and TV personality Pandji Pragiwaksono is set to head Indonesia’s adaptation, while popular Thai hosts Siwat Chotchaicharin (C) and Pramote Pathan (Oat) will co-host the Thailand version.
“LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines” and “LOL: Last One Laughing Thailand” will premiere on July 4, while “LOL: Last One Laughing Indonesia” is set for July 11. The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.
The “LOL: Last One Laughing” format has already seen massive success globally, becoming the “most-watched title” on Prime Video in Italy, France, and Germany.
The format has also been adapted in numerous countries, including Mexico, Australia, India, Spain, Canada, The Netherlands, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, and Sweden, featuring celebrity hosts like Jay Baruchel, Eugenio Derbez, Fedez, Michael “Bully” Herbig, Rebel Wilson, Graham Norton, and Trevor Noah.
Originally inspired by the Japanese series “Documental,” “LOL: Last One Laughing” pits comedians against each other in a “battle of wit and resilience.”
The challenge for each contestant is to make the others laugh while keeping a straight face. With every moment captured by multiple cameras, viewers are expected to witness an intense yet hilarious test of comedic skill and self-control.
In a statement, James Farrell, vice president for International Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, expressed his excitement about bringing these adaptations to Southeast Asia.

As for Vice Ganda, the comedian expressed excitement about being chosen to host the upcoming comedy series.
