MANILA, Philippines — Former couple Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones attended this year's Cannes Film Festival, proving Jericho's previous comment that exes can remain friends.

Lawyer and filmmaker Joji Alonso took a photo with Jericho and Kim while at Cannes, sharing the two were there as friends.

"Walang movie. Magkasama lang sila. Friends naman sila," Joji told a media outlet after posting the photo on social media.

Jericho and Kim attended the global premiere of "The Surfer," starring Nicolas Cage and Julian McMahon, which is screening out of competition at the prestigious film festival.

The ex-couple also managed to meet up with actress Shaina Magdayao and film producer Bianca Balbuena, who are in Cannes for the festival's Directors Factory program focusing on Filipino short films.

Shaina stars in one of the films "Walay Balay," alongside Ruby Ruiz, who is also at the Cannes Film Festival and is earning raving comments for her performance in the series "Expats" with Nicole Kidman.

"Obsessed with these two so much! Shaina is so captivating in 'Walay Balay.' Witnessing powerhouse producer and our Queen B absolutely own Cannes this season is incredible," Kim praised the two Filipinas.

Earlier this year, the former couple's godfather, Ricco Ocampo, said that Jericho and Kim have been separated since 2019. They tied the knot in 2014.

Over a month later in an interview with Cosmopolitan Philippines, Jericho reiterated Ricco's words that he and Kim are indeed on good terms and continue to support each other.

The 77th Cannes Film Festival runs until May 25, as presided by "Barbie" filmmaker Greta Gerwig, where 22 films, including Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis," Yorgos Lanthimos' "Kinds of Kindness" and Sean Baker's "Anora," are competing for the Palme d'Or.
