Summer blast with NET25
The end of April was very busy for NET25, which held its “Summer Blast” on the colossal grounds of the Philippine Arena complex on April 20, and the second “NET25 Golf Cup” at Ayala Alabang Golf and Country Club on April 22.
The “Summer Blast” is a highly anticipated annual event because of the sheer number of activities it offers from day to night. This year, despite the sweltering heat, thousands of people nevertheless trooped to the Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria, Bocaue, Bulacan to join the fun.
The water rides were a big hit with attendees since these gave them much-needed relief from the heat. Another hit was the Candy Land café that offered an array of snacks, thirst-quenching drinks and candies (of course!) to delight the young at heart. The café also provided shade to those who wanted to relax and cool down before braving the sun again.
But the most anticipated event was the nighttime “Summer Blast” concert experience held inside the airconditioned Philippine Arena, which had a seating capacity of 50,000. It was filled to the rafters with fans who were excited about this year’s line-up, which was topbilled by none other than Original Pilipino Music (OPM) royalty Rico Blanco. He had everyone on their feet and singing along with him as he belted out his famous ballads and rock hits.
Celebrity guests Jumanji, Nobita and Rocksteddy equally enthralled the crowd, and even newbies ZILD, Sean Archer, Angela Ken and Raven wowed the audience with their youthful energy and hit songs.
There were also performances from reggae artist Maki, who had the crowd dancing to the beat of his music, and Zack Tabudlo, who captivated the audience with his modern pop songs.
With daytime thrills, sweet indulgences, and a night of stellar performances, “Summer Blast 2024” was definitely a red-letter day!
From the north, NET25 traveled down south to Ayala Alabang Golf and Country Club two days later for the golf cup on April 22. Despite the scorching heat, the turn-out was huge. Since its inception last year, the NET25 Golf tournament has become a staple for golf enthusiasts and professionals alike.
As NET25 president Caesar Vallejos said during the ceremonial tee-off, “The ‘NET25 Golf Cup’ is about bringing people together through a shared love of the sport. Yes, it’s a serious tournament, but it’s also an opportunity to forge connections and simply enjoy the camaraderie of golfers.”
And that’s exactly what happened as the tournament attracted a diverse array of participants, including seasoned pros, passionate amateurs, and even celebrities like Epi and Vandolph Quizon, Randy Santiago, Alex Santos, Derek Ramsay, and husband-and-wife Vince and Patricia Hizon.
The tournament format featured not one but two tee-off times to ensure ample opportunity for players of all skill levels to showcase their talents.
An added plus was the array of prizes offered. Luxurious hotel packages, state-of-the-art golf equipment and even golf carts were quite the incentive for participants to bring their A-game. Not surprisingly, the event became a prime opportunity for networking and relationship-building. Business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from various industries converged on the fairways, forging new relationships and strengthening alliances in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.
Is it too early to mark your calendars for “Summer Blast 2025” and the third “NET25 Golf Cup”? See you next year!
