Beauty Gonzalez to star in an afternoon series and artsy film
Beauty Gonzalez has again played well the character Gloria in ‘Walang Matigas Na Pulis sa Matinik Na Misis’ season two. After her stint in the weekend action comedy, the Kapuso actress will be seen as the fighter and protective mother of Sofia Pablo in the upcoming series, ‘Ang Prinsesa ng City Jail.’ She will also do a totally different character as compared to her Gloria in a film.

MANILA, Philippines — With the recent season two finale of “Walang Matigas Na Pulis sa Matinik Na Misis,” viewers will miss again its relatable characters, including policeman, Major Bartolome “Tolome” Reynaldo (played by Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.) and his wife Gloria (Beauty Gonzalez).

The latter’s appeal or charm emanates from her being loving, strong, and protective of her hearth and home — and definitely of her husband.

Besides, Beauty Gonzalez has played Gloria well. She has also been given the creative liberty to put a distinct stamp on the character, and that’s to dash Gloria’s dialogues with Bisaya words.

“After doing every season, I’m thinking I hope I did justice (to the role),” answered Beauty when asked what’s on an actor’s mind after wrapping up a show in a recent brief virtual chat with The STAR. “I hope I delivered it well, kasi ang ganda ng season one. Of course, you want it to get better and better as time goes by, di ba?”

“With the answers in my hand, and I turned out to be happy, happy na rin ako, and I got to relax and reminisce about the good times that we had at taping,” added she. “Na-relax ako after that, and I think I did a good job, ‘coz at the end of the day, when I go home after work, I have a big smile on my face. I’m just having a lot of good times, and it really shows on TV, eh. You cannot act that and so, yeah, it’s a mix of emotions (when you know that the show has reached its conclusion). I’m very happy.”

The weekend action comedy is an adaptation of the successful film of the same title, with Sen. Bong and his wife, Cavite Second District Rep. Lani Mercado, in the lead roles. The veteran actress also did an endearing and engaging portrayal of Gloria.

“You know I’m happy that I get to put in a little bit of me,” said Beauty, “that I get to do Bisaya here. (The show is) very relatable to all Filipinos because, of course, there’s action, there’s love, and there’s family.”

So, in what shows can viewers watch Beauty in the coming months?

“I love working,” shared she. “I’ll be doing a new show with Sofia Pablo, I’m gonna start when I get back, bakasyon muna ako ngayon. I love working, and I enjoy working.”

“(I think) something is coming up in October. I have a film. It’s a very artsy film, sobrang 360 kay Gloria (my character there is totally different from or a 360-degree turn from Gloria) and I really love doing this kind of thing na iba-iba ang nakikita sa akin all the time (I love to offer something new and different every time),” continued she. “And hopefully, another movie is coming out on Netflix soon.”

Beauty’s 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, “Kampon,” also starring Derek Ramsay, is now available on the streaming platform.

Her project with Sofia, according to reports, is the GMA Afternoon Prime series, “Ang Prinsesa ng City Jail,” in which she will essay a fighter and very protective mother to Sofia’s character.
