‘Not guilty’: Herlene Budol recovers from ‘kabitan’ scandal with Rob Gomez
MANILA, Philippines — “Kumain ka na ba?”
Philstar.com asked Herlene Budol such question, based on her recent controversy with former co-star Rob Gomez, dubbed in memes as “Kain tayo.” The actress-beauty queen just laughed it off and gamely replied, “Ay hindi pa po.”
When asked for updates about her single “Kain Tayo,” the “Black Rider” star said she is enjoying her single life: “Okay pa naman po ako. Masaya ako sa single life ko.”
After realizing that we were referring to her song “Kain Tayo,” she clarified: “Actually, kanta po siya ni Mr. Wilbert Tolentino…”
“As of now, wala pa naman po,” she said when asked if she has new songs or an album coming up.

When asked how she recovered from controversies, recently with Gomez, Herlene said: “Actually, hindi naman ako gaano naapektuhan. Naapektuhan ako in a way kasi jinudge ako ng mga tao. For me, okay lang din naman s’ya kasi sabi nga nila, good or bad publicity is still publicity. Guilty ka na lang kung maapektuhan ka ng sobra. Hindi naman tayo guilty, so tuloy lang ang buhay.”
Besides “Black Rider,” Herlene appears in the GMA sitcom “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis.”
According to her, she is able to balance her personal life and career through time management and with help from those fixing her schedule.
“Ngayon na nasa Sparkle na po ako, okay na po ‘yung pag-aayos ng schedules,” she added.
