Benjie Paras co-hosts business-oriented show
From the basketball world to the acting scene, Benjie Paras is venturing into another field, co-hosting the business-oriented show “Negosyo Goals,” now in its third season.
In a mediacon, the former cager shared that it wasn’t that hard for him to try his hand at hosting a program about entrepreneurship as he had been a sports commentator in the past.
“It’s almost the same because annotating basketball naman, being an analyst (involves) like whatever it is that I see and that’s what I will say about basketball. In ‘Negosyo Goals,’ whatever it is that is asked and answered by the interviewee, and of course, that’s where I get the second and third questions for them,” the actor-comedian offered.
He also noted the differences between doing sports and showbiz, as well as hosting stints.
“I started in basketball which is very different from showbiz,” he told The STAR. “Basketball is all about self-discipline, sleep early and proper diet. The nature of work in showbiz is puyatan and wala sa oras yung kain.”
He added, “In ‘Negosyo Goals,’ it’s learning through experience. I am so very happy and very privileged that I was able to work with veteran artists and learn things when we worked together.”
Asked about his background on business, Benjie shared that he was able to put up a food chain branch but it was stopped because of bad business location. “(So) for me, hosting ‘Negosyo Goals’ is not just about me helping the entrepreneurs, rather, I, myself, am also learning about business. Of course, I also want to put up a stable business (someday) and this is the part where I also learn (from the show).”
“When you venture into business, kailangan buo talaga yung loob and of course, the feasibility study, you have to study all the angles. This is going to be a learning process for me.”
Likewise, Benjie admitted that it was not that difficult for him to join the show because the people and the team behind “Negosyo Goals” are easy to work with.
“I’m at home at GTV. Dito rin naman ako nagta-trabaho. Cheap lang ako, pinakain lang ako, libre lang yung steak, so OK na,” quipped Benjie when queried on why he said yes to the offer.
“Actually, I’ve been in the industry for quite a while and this is a new challenge for me — being able to do the interview part of a business show. The great part is I had the chance to work with Ms. A (Anna Magkawas, his co-host) a few weeks ago in the studio.”
“And to be able to interview the people, hearing the testimonies of the people who were given the chance to expose their business na lumaki, when I was there, I witnessed how the show works. It’s about helping people. So, I said yes right away because I know that’s it’s about helping (entrepreneurs).”
“Negosyo Goals” is a weekly television program dedicated to offering viewers valuable resources, practical approaches, and principles that can be immediately applied to their own business ventures.
Previously broadcast on ALL TV, “Negosyo Goals Season 3” moved to GTV and airs every Sunday at 6:30 a.m. The past episodes can be accessed on the program’s official pages and websites on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
Social media personality and host Anna, who also runs the Luxe Beauty and Wellness Group, was proud to say that aside from their new home, they now have a studio and Benjie is joining them on the third season.
“It wasn’t that challenging to convince Benjie (to join us). Nakakatuwa and I’m very happy that he opened his door for us to be part of ‘Negosyo Goals,’” she said of Benjie.
Producer Ivy Ataya of Maker’s Mind Media Production remarked that they are hoping for the best and they’re optimistic with the new season. “We have a very hard-working team, Ms. A. All of us are really promoting ‘Negosyo Goals.’”
With GTV, they hope to reach more audience and spread the mission and vision of the show, Ivy added and mentioned that the segments of the program are almost the same with its earlier seasons.
