'Hindi ako ganung babae': Herlene Budol mulls defamation case amid leaked viral convo
MANILA, Philippines — Beauty queen-actress Herlene Budol reiterated that she is not the type of woman being implied in the alleged leaked private chats that went viral this week.
Herlene released a statement Friday on X (formerly Twitter) to clear her name in the alleged cheating issue that has also dragged her "Magandang Dilag" co-stars Rob Gomez and Bianca Manalo.
Herlene said she has no idea how the issue started since she has been busy with work. She would later discover that she has been implicated in the issue that began when the now-deleted posts containing Rob's alleged private messages to women, including her, went viral.
"'Yung tahimik lang ako at kaliwa't kanan babad ako sa taping. 'Yung d ako maka focus sa trabaho dahil sa issue ng mag-jowa na may anak. Tapos malalaman ko nakaladkad na lang pangalan ko at binabash ako na wala naman akong ginagawa," her post began.
Rob has been estranged from the mother of his baby, former beauty queen Shaila Rebortera.
Herlene said that people might see her as "squammy," a derogatory slang often used to describe a financially challenged person, but she was raised well by her grandparents despite coming from a broken family.
"Opo, Squammy man ako sa paningin nyo. [H] indi ako hayok sa laman. Produkto ako ng broken family. Pinalaki ako ng lolo at lola ko ng maayos," she stressed.

Herlene lamented how she was made the subject of bashing and explicit jokes due to the allegations.
"'Yung batuhan ng mga script para pang kabisado sa mga linyahan ay nahaluan ng mga joke at one liner tulad ng salitang 'Kain' ganyan na agad ang tingin nyo sa akin. Sunakay (sic) lang ako sa mga joke dahil Komedyante ako kht alam ko finiflirt ako," she wrote.
The beauty queen revealed that she had received indecent proposals that came with huge sums when she joined two national pageants, but she never entertained them.
She was named Binibining Pilipinas 2022 1st runner-up and also won the title Miss Philippines Tourism 2023 at the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 pageant.
"Pero [h]indi ako ganung babae sa mga binabatikos sa akin. FYI (for your information) naka dalawang National pageant na ako marami nag propose ng indecent proposal sa akin ng malaking halaga. Pero inisip ko nasa maayos naman karera ko at gusto ko pinag hihirapan indi 'yung one tym big tym," she said.
She ended her post by saying that she is considering filing data privacy, defamation and cyber libel cases against the person who leaked the screenshots.
Rob claimed in his statement released Thursday that his estranged girlfriend Shaira was the one who illegally got hold of his phone and uploaded the screenshots on his social media without his consent.
