Ang Parokya ni Edgar musical unveils cast, creative team

MANILA, Philippines — The musical Buruguduystunstugudunstuy:Ang Parokya ni Edgar has just unveiled its cast and creative team.

Featuring lead cast members Marynor Madamesila, Natasha Cabrera, Kyle Napuli, and Tex de Leon, alongside supporting cast members Noel Comia, Pepe Herrera, Nicco Manalo, and Jasper Jimenez, the all-Filipino production by Newport World Resorts’ Full House Theater Company promises iconic songs from the beloved rock band, Parokya ni Edgar.

The show boasts an all-female lead cast, starring Kyle Napuli, Marynor Madamesila, Tex de Leon, and Natasha Cabrera, with supporting roles played by Noel Comia, Pepe Herrera, Jasper Jimenez, and Nicco Manalo.

The ensemble includes Iya Villanueva, Maronne Cruz, Teetin Villanueva, Miah Canton, Cara Barredo, Liway Perez, Cheska Quimno, Paulina Luzuriaga, Julia Serad, Sarah Facuri, Jillian Ita-as, Chaye Mogg, Mikaela Regis, and Aixia Mallary as the female swing. The male ensemble comprises Jules dela Paz, Rapah Manalo, Stephen Viñas, Boo Gabunada, Jep Go, Khalil Tambio, Neo Rivera, Francis Gatmaytan, Mark Anthony Grantos, MC dela Cruz, Franco Ramos, Red Nuestro, Ralph Oliva, and Jim Ferrer, with Rofe Villarino as the male swing.

Newport World Resorts, through FHTC, has brought together a seasoned creative team. Building on the success of Ang Huling El Bimbo The Musical, director Dexter M. Santos and artistic directors Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Michael Williams return.

Critically acclaimed writer Rody Vera joins as playwright, accompanied by musical director and arranger Ejay Yatco. The creative team also includes choreographer Stephen Viñas, set designer Lawyn Cruz, lights designer Monino Duque, costume designer Raven Ong, and video designers Ga Fallarme and Joyce Garcia, along with sound designer Arvy Dimaculangan.

With preparations in full swing, the musical is set for an epic debut at the Newport Performing Arts Theaterin 2024.
