What does GMA have in the pipeline for Michelle Dee?
MANILA, Philippines — GMA is rolling out the red carpet to welcome back its homegrown artist, Michelle Marquez Dee.
Lawyer Annette Gozon-Valdes, GMA Network’s senior vice president for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, as well as president of GMA Films, told The Philippine STAR what exciting plans are in store for Michelle after her Top 10 finish at the 2023 Miss Universe pageant held in El Salvador.
“We are having a grand welcome for her, then she will do a round of guestings. She is also going to have a special appearance in one of our primetime shows. We also plan to have regional events with Michelle,” revealed Gozon-Valdes.
On Saturday evening, a crowd of supporters gathered at NAIA 1 to join the “grand salubong” for the country’s bet, as hosted by Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH). Spotted at the event were MUPH head Shamcey Supsup, Michelle’s mom, former Miss International Melanie Marquez, and celebrity friends.
Addressing fans who showed up at the homecoming event, the Kapuso actress said, “Thank you so much for your continued support. It means so much to me. You know, I really get inspiration and strength from all of you.
“I started this journey because of your push, I wouldn’t have gotten this far without all of you. Siempre, hindi lang ako mag-isa lumalaban pero lahat tayo, 118 million Filipinos talaga. Maraming salamat, I love you all and sana patuloy lang ang support niyo,” she added.
“It was the best feeling,” she said of returning home in an Instagram Live shortly after her arrival. “It feels so good to be home. I miss the weather of the Philippines. Yung tipong pag-gising ko, pagpapawisan ako. Sarap sa pakiramdam.”
In a separate message from GMA Sparkle’s PR and Events team, it was disclosed that Michelle is scheduled for TV rounds, a media conference, and will also pay a courtesy call on GMA executives and Malacañang. They are also considering a motorcade if her schedule allows.
