LIST: Concerts, events for November 2023
SINGAPORE — (UPDATED: November 11, 12:50 p.m.) Take down the cobwebs and bring back the parols, the Christmas season is back on track.
While many locations around the country have begun planning their Yuletide parties and yearend promotions, there are a number of events in November to enjoy — be they festive in theme or in spirit.
Here are several of the concerts, events and productions happening in November:
Hamilton (November 1 to 5, 7 to 12, 14 to 19, 21 to 26)
The first international tour of Tony-winning musical "Hamilton" is ending its run at The Theater at Solaire this month.
ON Music Festival (November 3)
EXO's Suho, Moira Dela Torre, Darren Espanto and Korean band Wave to Earth highlight this music festival at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Saosin (November 3 and 4)
American rock band Saosin is performing for two nights at SM North Edsa's Skydome, the second show added after the first one sold out tickets.
The Juans: Back Home (November 4)
The local band is hosting a salubong party and conference at the SM Southmall Events Hall to mark the launch of its extended play "Back Home," with singer Janine Teñoso as guest.
Diwali Mela (November 4)
A celebration of India's Festival of Lights in the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Plenary Hall with Inderjit Nikku, Gurlej Akhtar, Kulwinder Kally and Gurnam Bhullar.
Joey G: Side Ko Lang... (November 5)
Singer-songwriter and former member of Side A Joey Generoso headlines the second installment of the "Random Hits Live" series, with fellow hit-maker Juris joining him in Quezon City's New Frontier Theater.
Himig Himbing: Mga Heleng Atin (November 5)
The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is re-launching this project at the Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez with eight new music videos of local lullabies like "Lubi-Lubi" and "Dandansoy" directed by esteemed Filipino filmmakers.
Nina: Only Nina (November 8)
OPM singer Nina will be having a belated birthday celebratory concert on November 8 at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura in Taguig.
The Greatest Duets Goes Broadway (November 10)
Gian Magdangal and Lara Maigue produce and perform beloved Broadway duets in this special concert at San Juan's Teatrino Promenade, with special guest Ogie Alcasid.
Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival (November 11)
Bamboo, KZ Tandingan, Ben&Ben, Arthur Nery, Gloc-9, Morissette, Adie, 6cyclemind, Gracenote, Shanti Dope, Al James, Hey June!, Denise Juliam and more local acts will perform at this music festival at the CCP Open Grounds in Pasay City.
Lee Jun-ho: The Moment (November 11)
The Korean singer-actor and member of boyband 2PM takes his fan meeting tour to the Mall of Asia Arena.
Tribute to OPM (November 11)
National Artist Ryan Cayabyab headlines this special event at the Newport Performing Arts Theater alongside Basil Valdes, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Jona and the Ryan Cayabyab Singers.
Puccini's "La Boheme" (November 11 and 12)
Viva Voce Voice Lab restages Giacomo Puccini iconic four-act opera at the Tanghalang Ignacio B. Gimenez or CCP Blackbox Theater for two nights.
Carols on Ice: Music Through The Years (November 12)
This event at SM Skating Mall of Asia in support of Philippince ice skating will see skaters performing to timeless and contemporary musical compositions.
Festival of Lights (November 14)
The annual lighting of the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati, now in its 15th year as three variations of light and sounds performances fill the city park for the holidays.
Corrine Bailey Rae (November 14)
Grammy winner Corrine Bailey Rae is visiting Manila for the first time by promoting her latest record "Black Rainbows" at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang.
Choi Woo-shik: Pinky Promise (November 16)
Korean actor Choi Woo-shik — star of "Parasite," "My Beloved Summer" and "Okja" — is having an intimate meet-and-greet at SM North Edsa's Sky Dome.
Charlie Burg (November 16)
Singer-songwriter Charlie Burg is performing at SM Aura's Samsung Hall.
APO Hiking Society (November 17)
Jim Paredes and Boboy Garovillo celebrate the 50th anniversary of APO Hiking Society with a concert at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra: Russian Masters (November 17)
The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra will perform pieces by Pyotr Ilich Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Serge Prokofiev at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila, with pianist Nikolay Khozyainov as a guest performer.
ManiPopCon (November 17 to 19)
The Manila Pop Culture Convention returns this year by taking over Ayala Malls Manila Bay, with Netflix's "One Piece" star Mackenyu making a special appearance.
Rekta Sa Kalye (November 18)
The OPM-centric music festival is celebrating its 2023 edition at the CCP Concert Grounds with a line-up that includes Rico Blanco, Parokya ni Edgar, Mayonnaise, Sandwich, December Avenue, Silent Sanctuary, Nobita, Dilaw, Lola Amour, Zild, Franco, Urbandub, Al James, Loonie and so much more.
Se So Neon (November 18)
Korean alternative-rock duo composed of vocalist Soyoon and bassist Hyun-jin is performing at Alabang's Filinvest Tent.
Ibong Adarna (November 18)
A staging of Gerardo Francisco’s "Ibong Adarna" at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City will serve as a fundraiser to benefit Santa Ana's cultural heritage.
Disney Princess: The Concert (November 18 to 19, 21 and 22)
This concert, featuring Broadway stars singing tracks by Disney Princesses, will first have shows at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati, then at the SMX Convention Center in Davao and at the Waterfront Hotel & Casino in Cebu City.
Johnny Orlando: The Ride (November 20)
Canadian singer Johnny Orlando will have an intimate performance at the 12 Monkeys Music Hall and Pub in Capital Commons, Quezon City.
Help! A Beatles Tribute (November 21 and 22)
Beatles lookalikes relive the magic of the Fab Four with two concerts at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Sarah G x Bamboo (November 24)
The postponed collaborative concert of Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo from September will continue on this date at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex in Laguna.
Bun[n]al: Breaking New Ground for Mindanao (November 24)
This effort by the CCP Cultural Exchange Department’s Ugnayan sa Sining brings together prominent artists and performing groups from all around Mindanao to the Holy Cross of Davao College gymnasium to collaborate and explore exciting new directions for creative expressions.
Il Divo (November 24 and 25)
The multi-national classical crossover vocal group Il Divo is returning to Manila for two concerts at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Regine Velasquez: Regine Rocks (November 25)
Asia's Songbird hosts her first-ever rock concert at the Mall of Asia Arena.
New Wave Invasion (November 25)
Wind back to the '80s as A Flock of Seagulls, The Church's Steve Kilbey, Cactus World News' Frank Kearns and The Lotus Eaters' Peter Coyle perform at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, with the Philippines' own Orange and Lemons, Innervoices and Violent Playground also hitting the stage.
The Last Rakrakan Festival: 2 Days of Peace, Love and Music (November 25)
Terrible weather postponed the Rakrakan Festival's finale last June, but it is set to go out with a bang at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
MeowCon PH (November 25 to 26)
The Philippines' premier cat show and convention will be held on the last weekend of November at SM Megamall's Megatrade Hall. It will feature international judges Sue Hart-Jones, Steven Meserve and Ryk Sadie.
Daryl Hall and the Daryl's Hous Band (November 27)
Hall & Oates lead vocalist Daryl Hall — famous for hits like "You Make My Dreams," "Kiss on My List" and "Maneater" — will be performing at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with special guest Todd Rundgren.
Benny Sings + HYBS (November 28)
Dutch singer Benny Sings and Thai city pop duo HYBS are holding a back-to-back show at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, the latter originally set to perform last July.
Yulestars (November 30)
November ends with the first part of the Yulestars Christmas Concert Series, this portion featuring Joey Generoso and Angeline Quinto with special guest Ice Seguerra at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.
