MANILA, Philippines — KC Concepcion will be part of the much-awaited and much-anticipated Dear Heart concert of her parents, Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta, on Oct. 27 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.

It was confirmed by her dad Gabby at the Gabay Guro teacher’s tribute press conference, where Gabby was a guest, along with fellow actor, Albert Martinez.

“As far as I know, KC is still part of the show,” Gabby disclosed. “It’s an emotional time for all of us. It will be very meaningful for all three of us to be seen together onstage.”

Gabby is keeping the faith that he and KC will have a production number in the Dear Heart concert.

“I’d like to do a song with her (KC),” Gabby asserted. “I’d also like to see KC and Sharon sing. Then, I’d like to see KC sing again.”

As far as Gabby Concepcion knows, daughter KC is still part of the reunion concert of him and former wife, Sharon Cuneta. He shares that it will be an emotional time and very meaningful for them to be seen together onstage. Gabby is keeping the faith that he and KC will have a production number in the concert.

With regard to the recent misunderstanding of Sharon and KC, Gabby admitted he was not updated with what has been happening between mother and daughter. Yet, he believes mother and daughter will patch up soon.

“Everything should be fine,” Gabby said. “They lived together for so long. Sharon is her mother, KC is her daughter.”

Gabby is slated to render the well-loved themes of the memorable films he did with Sharon. Aside from Dear Heart, there are P.S. I Love You, My Only Love, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin, Sa Hirap at Ginhawa, Bakit Ikaw Pa Rin?, Tayong Dalawa and Una Kang Naging Akin.

The popular titles were made as the seating sections of Dear Heart: The Concert at the MOA Arena.

“I didn’t plan anything ever since,” Gabby said. “I always go with the flow. Whatever the production said, whatever the committee (that) planned it said, it was okay with me. Go lang.”

“I came to a point where whatever intrigues came, I just catch it. When I entered showbiz, the intrigues in the tabloids were always ahead that the news about me. I was the favorites of tabloids,” he added.

Gabby and Sharon agreed from the start they would not see each other till the day of the Dear Heart concert.

“I was surprised when we did a presscon (at Okada Hotel), she showed up onstage to surprise me,” he said. “I didn’t know she was there and I was surprised to see her come up onstage at that time.”

Gabby added, “This is going to be a nice concert. Game ako anytime when she’s there. We’re okay now. Friends na kami. No, not really friends. That’s different. Something might happen yet. But we’re okay now.”

Many might think it’s unthinkable for two superstars to perform live together onstage without seeing each other days before the concert to rehearse and study their songs musically.

That is what the erstwhile loveteam partner – reel and real – Gabby and Sharon will do for their Dear Heart concert.

Gabby confessed it’s still undoubtedly an “effort” for him to sing live onstage. “I am not really a singer. That’s why Albert and I, when we sing, we are just like acting it out.”

Two other dates have been added to the Dear Heart reunion concert of Gabby and Sharon. Oct. 30 will be a dinner concert at the Okada Grand Ballroom, while Nov. 17 will be a Dear Heart VIP night at the NuStar Convention Center in Cebu.

Meanwhile, Gabby cannot be any happier that he gets to be part of this year’s Gabay Guro grand gathering for teachers, now on its 16th year. The first part was held in Butuan last week, with 3,000 teachers in the audience. Pops Fernandez, Jona, Mark Bautista, Jed Madela, Daryl Ong and Ate Gay performed.

The second part happened on Oct. 14 at the Dolphy Theater, ABS-CBN Compound.

Gabby has been supporting Gabay Guro for years now.

“When I first heard about it, I accepted right away because my mother was a teacher,” he said.

Gabay Guro chairperson Chaye Cabal Revilla shared this year’s grand gathering has the theme, Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat kay Ma’am at Sir.

“The event will be about honoring and thanking our beloved teachers for their continued service and sacrifices for the benefit of our Filipino youth,” Chaye said.

“Our theme rightfully acknowledges and gives due respect to our teachers for the contribution that they make to nation-building.”
