Nadine Lustre gets into wine making
Nadine Lustre is definitely today’s purveyor of the latest fashion trends and fine taste in details when it comes to lifestyle and aesthetics.
Now, she will be a new driving force for this generation to discover more of the finer things in life, such as wine. Nadine is never one to go by the tide as she dictates her tide in showbiz and in her life. When a slew of personalities went into the side hustle of beauty, Nadine is getting into wine.
Yes, she, along with French beau Christophe Bariou and partners, will release their Maison Bukana wines soon.
We met up with Nadine in one of her investment properties in Taguig where every inch of the property had a touch of her taste in art and design that made us easily get into the vibe of her energy and how calmly she directs her life from here on.
“Chris kasi, my boyfriend, has a resort in Siargao and then we have a friend na business niya, he imports wine. Parang one day, naisip niya na why don’t we make our own?” she said.
Maison Bukana’s tagline is “Harmonizing Excellence in Both Worlds” as Nadine intertwines the best of the best of France and Siargao that will be experienced once the wine is sipped by her fans.
Maison Bukana hopes to be a legacy of excellence, tradition, and unmatched service that is, of course. for our kababayan.
“We went to France and we looked for a vineyard that would develop the wine. So, the wine and all were developed in France, but iyong iniisip nga namin the wine is born in France but enjoyed by Filipinos because it’s more for the Filipino palate,” she shared.
“It’s really different because tayo mahilig sa sweet and savory na food and drinks, so iyong wine na napili namin was mainly for our palette.”
Nadine added how Chris helped her have a more mature taste when it comes to the finer products such as wine from the world’s wine capital itself.
“Before I met Chris nga iyong wine sa akin wala iinumin ko lang to have a buzz and to enjoy with friends like a social thing. But now, after our trip last August, natutunan ko na na, oh okay, how to properly drink wine, the history of wine, how they make it and we went to a museum in Bordeaux,” she said.
Nadine wants to take her community along with her as she deepens her love for wine, as well as the other wines that come from France. Who knows? Nadine may just reserve those products for her fence in the future, she said. “I’m learning about champagne as well and more about food.”
For the meantime, here are Maison Bukana’s offerings, according to Nadine. “Mayroon kaming tatlong wine. We have white wine, we have rosé and we have red.”
Nadine is hands-on in everything she does and she gives 100 percent effort to whatever she is trying to convey, promote and do at the moment. One of the badges of honor she felt she earned was when she developed the look of the bottle.
It went through several revisions and a little scuffle with her beau, but that just shows how dedicated they are as they developed the brand, completely relatable and cute moments that they went through as a couple who are business partners.
“The thing with Chris, he is very on point with the brand Maison Bukana. As in when you see their Instagram, sobrang on point iyong photos, eh, ako iyong in charge (with) the sticker. I designed for the marketing as well I’m helping out in for the card in the post, that’s what I kind of do best,” she said.
“Ang daming times nagkakaroon ng hindi naman arguments pero nagkakaroon kami (ng) miscommunication and whatnot just because iba kasi gusto ko mangyari. I was telling him I get it that it has to be part of Maison Bukana, pero i-ne-explain ko sa kanya na dapat medyo iba iyong identity and it still has to be its own.”
Besides Maison Bukana, the hotel and wine, Nadine revealed that she has ventured into more businesses with Christophe.
“We have rental properties as well, but hindi pa siya tapos, inaayos pa namin,” she concluded.
