Dennis Trillo on his viral TikTok videos: 'Masaya mag-share ng good vibes'

MANILA, Philippines — Dennis Trillo is doing a good job at fan service as he confessed that he is inspired to do his viral TikTok videos because he wants to make his fans happy. 

At last Saturday's yellow carpet and press conference for his upcoming GMA-7 and VIU romantic drama with Bea Alonzo titled "Love Before Sunrise," the actor shared his inspiration when he was asked by one of his fans present at the event and episode 1 preview. 

"Actually, humuhugot ako ng energy sa inyo dahil masaya makapagpatawa ng tao," drawing smiles from Bea, who was sitting beside him, and the audience.

"Masaya mag-share ng good vibes sa mga tao lalo na... Minsan hindi mo alam kung ano 'yung mga pinagdadaanan ng tao. Mapapatawa mo. Mabibigyan mo ng kahit sandaling kaligayahan lang. So 'yun 'yung isa sa mga nag-inspire sa akin," added the actor. 

Dennis is fairly new to the popular social media site. His first video uploaded in 2022 features his wife, actress Jennylyn Mercado, who was then pregnant with their daughter Dylan. 

There are months in between his first few posts and his more recent humorous posts where he is seen taking on a dance challenge or lip-syncing to viral sound bites. 

One of his popular TikTok video is one where he was about to dance to SB19's hit song "Gento," when Jennylyn chides him and hands him Dylan so he would take his turn taking care of their daughter.

Most fans would often leave comments, wondering what happened to Crisostomo Ibarra, the character Dennis played in "Maria Clara at Ibarra."

Dennis said that apart from the practical reason of putting up TikTok for his job, he is inspired to make his fans laugh at his antics.

"Bukod sa kailangan din namin siya sa trabaho. Pero more than that, 'yung mga nababasa ko sa comments na, 'Uy, napasaya ako nito. Napatawa ako nito.'

"Masarap 'yung pakiramdam na makapagparamdam sa tao ng gan'un," Dennis said. 

Dennis and Bea lead the cast of "Love Before Sunrise," the newest collaboration between GMA-7 and streaming platform VIU. It streams first on VIU on September 23 and premieres on GMA-7 on September 25 on its Telebabad block. — Video by Kathleen A. Llemit, editing by EC Toledo
