'24 Oras' rival news shows 'TV Patrol,' 'Frontline Pilipinas' pay respect to Mike Enriquez

MANILA, Philippines — The rival shows of "24 Oras,""TV Patrol" and "Frontline Pilipinas," gave their condolences to veteran broadcaster Mike Enriquez who died yesterday.

After Mel Tiangco announced Mike's passing on "24 Oras," "TV Patrol" hosts Noli de Castro, Henry Omaga-Diaz and Bernadette Sembrano paid their respect to Mike on the news show.

“Nakikiramay po ang TV Patrol at ABS-CBN sa pamilya ni Mike Enriquez,” Noli said. 

“Isa na namang malungkot na balita sa isang haligi ng pamamahayag sa ating bansa," Henry added. 

“Condolence po sa lahat ng mga Kapuso, especially mga Kapuso," Bernadette said. 

Noli also recalled his friendsship with Mike. 

"Nakikiramay po kami sa pamilya, Kapuso… matagal-tagal din kaming naging magkaibigan ni Mike," he said. 

“Lagi kaming nagkakasabay sa mga live (coverage), mga live, sa Quiapo... basta may malalaking live, nagkakasabay kami, nu’ng may prangkisa pa tayo,” he added. 

Meanwhile, "Frontline Pilipinas" anchor Julius Babao of TV5 also said their condolences for the family of Mike. 

“Pero bago 'yan, sumailalim muna sa heart bypass surgery at kidney operation si Mike Enriquez. Nakikiramay po ang Frontline Pilipinas at ang buong News5 sa naiwang pamilya ni Ginoong Mike Enriquez," Julius said.
