MANILA, Philippines — ‘I’ve been in the showbiz industry for a long time. And at my age, I can still do new things like collaborations. I’m excited.’

Vice Ganda has noted “a lot of possibilities” of him and fellow comedian Michael V. (a.k.a. Bitoy) to collaborate in a project after some netizens and showbiz personalities expressed excitement seeing the two in one photo that was uploaded on their respective social media accounts.

Bitoy and his Pepito Manaloto co-star Manilyn Reynes made a surprise appearance in It’s Showtime, hosted by Vice, to celebrate the birthday of their friend and also host on the ABS-CBN noontime program Ogie Alcasid.

“Wala pang pinag-uusapan (but) if he (Bitoy) is thinking about it, I am thinking about it as well as the people (around us). I said, first, we could do a movie together. I’ve read comments saying Bitoy and Vice Ganda for a film festival. But I will not be able to join a film festival this year. It’s no longer possible this year. I said maybe next year? Parang Bitoy and Vice next year. Eh dream ko kasi mag-Bubble Gang,” Vice told select press during Shopee Philippines 9.9 Super Shopping Day event. It was also announced that Vice is the e-commerce platform’s newest ambassador.

The Unkabogable Star was just waiting for an invitation for a possible collaboration. “There are a lot of possibilities,” he shared. “We can do a song together. We can do a lot of things together. I’m very thrilled about it. I’ve been in the showbiz industry for a long time and at my age, I can still do new things, like collaborations. And I’m excited.”

Vice also cited GMA network’s warm reception since the airing of It’s Showtime on GMA-owned GTV Channel last month.

“Alam mo nakakatuwa because ambabait ng mga taga-GMA. Sobra. When we launched on GTV, ang ganda-ganda ng personal experience ko dun,” he commented.

“My colleagues also said the same thing especially when we attended the GMA Gala,” he said and reiterated how GMA staff, artists and bosses were very kind to them. “Ang gaan-gaan. Of course, we were also excited that GMA artists got to visit us because that didn’t happen for a long time, in the past.”

“But now it’s possible that’s why we are very happy. We are excited every time they come to the show and we felt their excitement, too. Ang ganda lang ng relationship,” he added.

Just recently, Vice figured in an accident involving his car, other motorists and a delivery truck.

The Kapamilya host-comedian said he is OK after that incident. “I’m very much alive. I’m happy that nothing serious happened to me. Buti na lang talaga bongga din yung sinasakyan ko. Matigas siyang sasakyan kaya walang mabigat na physical na nangyari sa akin. Yung sasakyan lang talaga ang nangarag. But me, I’m OK.”

Vice is Shopee Philippines’ newest celebrity ambassador.

At the same time, Vice expressed sympathy to the driver of the truck. “Naawa kasi ako kasi naiwan siya sa ere,” he remarked. “He was left alone to solve the problem all on his own. If you look at it, he doesn’t have the means na masolusyunan niya ‘tong problemang ‘to.

“Tapos nung tinanong namin, as far as I know, what they told us was Lalamove will not shoulder it because they don’t have liability. The contractor will not also shoulder it. So mag-isa lang yung driver. He even stayed overnight at the police station.”

Vice, nonetheless, assured everybody was safe after the accident, including the driver.

He further reminded the vehicle drivers and riders to be “responsible” when on the road. “If you feel sleepy, you stop. At the end of the day, your life is still important kaysa ide-deliver, sa trabaho, sa tina-trabaho at kikitain sa trabaho.

“Because ‘pag may nangyaring masama sa atin, may namatay or ano, it’s not gonna be worth it. Kaya kung inaantok, huminto. Kung hindi kaya, don’t drive especially when you are drunk. Be responsible on the road because hindi lang naman buhay mo (affected), andami mong buhay na maapektuhan when you are on the road at nagkaroon ng ganung klaseng accidents.”

Meanwhile, Vice is delighted to be part of the Shopee family, describing it a “blessing” in his career.

Shopee Philippines’ head of Business Intelligence Martin Yu praised Vice’s “energy, wit, appeal and personality” which made him a “good fit” to be Shopee’s ambassador.

Vice admitted he is an “impulsive buyer” type of shopper and does last-minute shopping during Christmas.

“I do not have the luxury of time to always go out. I don’t go out often to shop so whenever I see some things, I will buy it right away because hindi ko na alam kung kailan ko siya makikita ulit,” he elaborated.

Since the ber-months are just around the corner, Vice was also asked about his shopping list for the holiday season. “I always do last-minute shopping,” he shared. “I have  a (Christmas) gift list because meron kang kakilala na hindi mo nabigyan tapos bihira mo lang mabigyan so you want to give them something during those times.

“I (usually) give that list to my assistants and staff and they are the ones who will look for that in Shopee. The other stuff, I personally buy them at the mall on Dec. 24. Nasa mall ako lagi bago mag noche buena,” he added.
