Star Magic celebrates 30 years of stardom
The country’s brightest stars gathered for the unveiling of the Star Magic 30 Catalogue as part of the 30th anniversary celebration of ABS-CBN’s talent development arm.
Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Donny Pangilinan, Belle Mariano, KD Estrada, Alexa Ilacad, John Arcilla, BGYO, BINI, Jolina Magdangal, Dimples Romana, and other Kapamilya stars showed their support at the grand launching held at the Blue Leaf Pavilion and hosted by Edward Barber and Kaila Estrada.
Laurenti Dyogi, the head of Star Magic and ABS-CBN TV production, reflected on the hardships they endured to finally produce another Star Magic Catalogue.
“Ang daming laman na kwento ng catalogue. It took us three years, three long years to have this physical catalogue because of the pandemic and it was too difficult to shoot, to have our artists with all the protocols of COVID. It was very challenging and that’s why this catalogue is very special and dear to us. This is one for the books,” Lauren said.
The limited edition catalogue has two front covers and contains more than 200 pages of photos of various Star Magic artists exuding their charismatic and elegant side.
Kathryn, one of the featured stars, expressed her honor and gratitude for being part of the legacy of Star Magic through the catalogue.
“It’s such a prestigious shoot to be part of because it is not just the usual pictorial that we do. It’s us representing our second home, which is ABS-CBN and Star Magic despite all the challenges,” she said.
Dimples Romana, who currently appears in The Iron Heart, shared her heartfelt sentiments about shooting the Star Magic 30 Catalogue while she was seven months pregnant with her third child.
“Looking at it now, nakaka-warm ng puso kasi as you know it’s Star Magic 30(th anniversary) but also a very special time in my life. Ang ganda parang na-capture yung moment na nanay ako,” Dimples said.
Other guest artists opened up about the impact of Star Magic on their lives.
For Donny, the talent agency has been his second family and has taught him valuable lessons he will remember throughout his career..
“Ever since I started in the industry, Star Magic has been there. They are my family since day one and there are just so many memories with them. I’ll never forget the workshops because that’s where you learn a lot of the values that you will cherish in the long run,” he shared.
Dirty Linen star John Arcilla noted how Star Magic continues to elevate world-class Filipino talent.
“Kapag sinabi mo kasing Star Magic, tatak world-class. World-class, pero hindi nalilimutan ang pagmamahal sa Filipinos at pag-se-serve sa mga Filipinos,” John said.
The Star Magic 30 Catalogue Box Set, which contains a premium hard case, special anniversary catalogue, lenticular bookmarks, commemorative pen and notepad, may be pre-ordered until July 20 on plusx.ph at the price of P2,399.
