Kapamilya host Robi Domingo is ‘super excited’ for his wedding. He has also been preparing for parenthood.

MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya host Robi Domingo is looking forward to spending a lifetime with fiancée Maiqui Pineda. They haven’t announced yet when the big day will be, but Robi is “super excited” and at the same time “super pressured” as the wedding ceremony draws near.

In an exclusive chat with The STAR on the sidelines of The Iron Heart media conference, Robi shared, “I am super excited for the wedding, but I am more excited for the things that will happen after the wedding. People say it’s a once-in-a-lifetime event, but I’m more excited dun sa lifetime with her.”

“I feel super pressured,” the 33-year-old Pinoy Big Brother alum admitted and explained, “Of course, you have to be the best groom, the best husband to be (and) and the best partner. And coming from a guy who knows events, that’s the one event na dapat sobrang maganda that you could offer as a gift to your (future) wife.”

The engaged pair just came back from a trip to Japan for their prenup photoshoot. It’s also the same country, where Robi proposed to his fiancée last year.

“It was a one-day shoot. We had different locations,” he recalled. “The one we uploaded (on social media) was in the Kyoto station. For the next upload, maybe it depends on her (Maiqui) because she is my ‘boss’ when it comes to these things. But we had it in Osaka and Kyoto.”

Robi generally described the photoshoot as a “nice experience” with Jaja Samaniego of Pearl Studio as their photographer.

The couple chose Japan as their location for the shoot because they both admire Japanese culture.

“We both love and I personally love Japanese culture (like how) disciplined and responsible they (the Japanese) are,” said Robi.

“And there’s something in that place that attracts me the most. I did the proposal there in Shibuya (crossing). And it made sense that we had our prenup (shoot) there. So, it might make more sense if we held our honeymoon there. Maybe? It depends on ‘my boss.’”

There are a lot of things that make their relationship work and make them click as a couple. “But one thing I admire is her ability to communicate with me, especially in times when I’m so stressed with everything. She makes me calm down and makes me realize who I am without the suit, without (the) mic and she makes me remember who I really am,” Robi gushed.

He also shared how he knew that Maiqui is “the one” for him.

“As cliché as it may sound, you just know. Totoo pala yung sinasabi ng mga tao na paano malalaman kung siya na talaga. I just knew from that moment when I got the ring. I told myself, ‘This is it,’” he said.

The two are still “fixing the details” as to where they will spend their honeymoon and “ironing (out)” the other details of their upcoming wedding.

The actor and model likewise shared that he has been preparing for fatherhood. He had some realizations last Father’s Day, saying, “We celebrated Father’s Day. I was realizing the fact that I’m so grateful for my dad, my father-in-law, even my lolos because parenthood — fatherhood — is no joke.

“I have to say I will never be ready unless it’s there. I’ve been preparing for it. That’s why I had my place renovated to make it baby proof. But let’s see what blessing will (arrive) for next year,” he concluded.
