Producer OctoArts Entertainment has announced South Korean K-pop idol Sandara Park as the latest headliner to join the concert, Super Stage by K-POP, in Manila in August.

Also known by her stage name Dara, the member of the girl group 2NE1 is expected to bring her star power to the Philippine stage alongside artists MAMAMOO+, KEP1ER and LAPILLUS at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena on Aug. 11, 7 p.m.

Tickets are priced at P11,800 (VIP standing), P10,500 (VIP seated), P9,000 (Lower Box), P7,000 (Upper Box A), P5,500 (Upper Box B), P3,250 (General Admission A) and P2,750 (General Admission B). They are now available via SM Tickets Outlets nationwide or through www.smtickets.com.

Dara, who has garnered a massive following in the international K-pop scene, has deep ties to the Philippines. She lived for some time and embarked on a showbiz career here before moving back home to South Korea in 2007 and debuting as part of the four-member 2NE1 in 2009.

Her upcoming Manila performance will also serve as Dara’s homecoming gig and will celebrate the release of her self-titled mini album, SANDARA PARK, set for release on July 12.

K-entertainment news website Allkpop, citing several Korean media outlets, earlier reported about Dara’s official debut as a solo artist 14 years after she was introduced with the 2NE1.

“The singer recently completed filming for her title track MV (music video) and is now in the final stages of preparation for her first solo single album release, coming (this month),” the report said.

Sandara first hinted at her solo music in late February.

The idol interacted with her fans and answered some questions that left big clues on her soon-to-be-released album.

According to Sandara, the eponymous album will be composed of “different genres” and might also include a “Dara-style” love song.

Her upcoming mini record will also put an end to her long hiatus as a solo artist. To recall, she was launched as a solo recording artist in the Philippines back in 2005 and even dropped the songs In Or Out and Ang Ganda Ko (I’m Beautiful) that became hits.

Dara rose to popularity and enjoyed a brief entertainment career in the country after emerging as the first runner-up in the ABS-CBN reality talent search Star Circle Quest. At the time, Sandara — dubbed by fans as the “Pambansang Krungkrung” — starred in several films.

The 38-year-old singer was recently in the Philippines to shoot a Korean variety show, Idol Truck, in Clark, Pampanga. She was spotted together with other cast members, including Korean idols Jinu from Winner, Aron and JR from NU’EST, and Dindin.
