'New chapter': Gab Valenciano moves to Los Angeles 'for good'
MANILA, Philippines — Singer-dancer Gab Valenciano is starting a new life in Los Angeles in the United States where he expects to stay "for good."
The son of fellow artist Gary Valenciano and Angeli Pangilinan detailed the monumental shift in an Instagram post, which featured the three departing Manila and arriving in Los Angeles.
It is not yet clear how long Gary and Angeli will be accompanying their son in the transition.
"The past six years have been quite the journey. A lot of ups and downs and a whole lot of experiences that I believe have prepared me for this very moment," Gab said, expressing his gratitude.
He has been vocal about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and clinical depression.
Gab compared the "huge leap of faith forward" to when he studied abroad a decade ago, again grateful he will be able constantly jumpstart his life.
"I dedicate this next phase to those who never gave up on me. I love you all! Here we go!!" Gab ended.
The artist did add a postscript explaining that Angeli got into an accident a few days earlier and needed stitches on her foot, but she still managed to travel with Gab using a wheelchair and cane.
Among those who expressed their support were Darren Espanto, Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, Erik Santos, Jak Roberto, Jason Abalos, Andi Manzano, Vina Morales, and Jake Cuenca.
