Following last year’s Triple Threat’s All of Me music event that showcased his journey as a musician and a theater actor, Arman Ferrer is taking on “another chance” in the concert scene with his Valentine’s Day special show, Another Chance, at the BGC Performing Arts Theater on Feb. 14 for the benefit of non-governmental organization Angat Buhay.
The audience will see the “lovable and romantic vulnerable side” of Arman in his upcoming solo concert. “Another Chance is a show that would remind people what love is, how we love, who we love and why we should continue to love,” he told The STAR in an e-mail interview.
It will also be a night of “good music (nostalgic, painful, inspiring), good company and definitely a good time,” he teased. “In this concert, walang uuwing sawi, lahat panalo dahil aside from ako ang ka-date nila, we’ll have a good mix of love songs in different genre — pop, classical, OPM, novelty, rock at kahit na sexy, meron po yan sa Another Chance this Valentine’s Day.”
What he is looking forward to in the show are the duets that he will be doing with his guest artists. “I feel that it would be awesome and spectacular,” he said.
In terms of preparations, Arman has been working closely with his musical director Gino Cruz, show director Floy Quintos and his manager Noel Ferrer. “We made sure that we will tackle the different forms of love. We made sure that the people will also have fun because we’ve chosen songs which are very familiar and are well-loved. My musical director made sure that there are bravura numbers and also quiet ones as well, so that there’s a story to it.”
“It’s always a pleasure working with these great artists. The mutual respect and trust that we have for each other make everything organic and easy. They also make sure that the show will look and sound good. They are geniuses,” he shared and thanked the two directors.
Arman’s team broached the idea of putting up a musical show “that’s all about love” after the success of Triple Threat’s All of Me and hence, Another Chance was conceived. “We wanted a show that would make people reminisce their love lives. We wanted our supporters and the audience to listen to good music and what better day to listen to love songs than on Valentine’s Day,” he said.
Speaking of his concert title, this paper asked him if given another chance, would he do things differently in his career? He replied, “Maybe study the piano more. I would love to sing and play one of these days. A lot of great singers can play the piano. And also, I would like to compose, too, in the future maybe.”
Aside from this gig, he also plans to spend time with his family, friends and loved ones on Valentine’s Day. “A lot of us are busy, thankfully, nowadays after the pandemic that’s why finding a common time is very difficult. Only during special days like holidays are we able to see and spend time with each other, that is why I make it a point that I have time,” he said.
To know more about his upcoming shows, one may subscribe to Arman’s YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music channels. “The greatest way to help an artist nowadays is by sharing their content. I would appreciate it so much. Thank you!”
