Sexy actress Christine Bermas tries action in Lawrence Fajardo film
Sexy actress Christine Bermas finds it more challenging to do action stunts as compared to the sex scenes she had done before. The Viva artist did the sexy movies Relyebo directed by Crisanto Aquino and Scorpio Nights 3 by Lawrence Fajardo last year.
This month, she will headline direk Law’s Night Bird, which will stream on Vivamax starting Jan. 13.
The “revenge-action film” Night Bird proved to be more difficult to do for Christine because it was her first time to do fight scenes.
“Like nothing sexy and everything, it’s really more on action and physical talaga yung ginawa namin,” she explained in a virtual call.
“Relyebo is a drama film. Scorpio Nights, it’s more on like (the) sexy (scenes) and then in Night Bird, I’m thankful and happy na nakagawa ako ng isang action film, which is very challenging,” she furthered.
According to the media release, Night Bird follows the story of Rachel (Christine), who goes to a bar to have a good time with friends. There they meet four strange, handsome men (Sid Lucero, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Arron Villaflor and Felix Roco) who they party with and give them a “night” they won’t forget.
Landing a lead role in an action flick has been a “dream come true” for the newbie actress.
“It wasn’t easy. Sobrang hirap niya kasi physical siya. Like buong katawan mo talaga gumagana and for me, mas mahirap yung action film. Kasi siguro before like sa paghuhubad… it’s the confidence na rin naman.”
“Dito nahirapan lang talaga ako kasi it’s more physical really,” she reiterated. “Pero hindi naman kami totally nahirapan because we underwent training.”
To prepare for the role, she and her co-actors participated in a week-long stunt training and their coaches were also present to guide them on set.
Despite the physical requirements of roles in action movies, Christine doesn’t mind doing it again in her future projects.
“If ever in the future or in the next project, if it’s still an action film, OK din siya gawin kasi gusto ko yung film that challenges me. Like every film I do, I get to have a new approach to acting… My approach for every movie is different,” she remarked.
She also cited her co-actors in Night Bird for making things easier on set. “They are all chill and mabait (nice),” she said.
They were able to bond whenever they filmed a scene together and even when they didn’t have one.
“Kahit madali yung mga eksena, our co-actors would take good care of the girls, especially in scenes that were no joke. Every scene is tough and our co-actors would act like our ‘kuya’ and inaalagaan nila kami. Hindi nila kami pinapabayaan in every scene.”
Christine is also “happy and grateful” that she was able to collaborate with Arron, Felix and Sid for the first time. She had previously worked with Mark in Scorpio Nights 3.
“The Night Bird team is very solid,” she commented.
Arron chimed in, “We took care of the girls. We were like a family doing this film. So masaya siya.”
It was also sort of a “reunion” for Arron, having worked with both Felix and Sid before.
When asked how daring he is in the film, he said, “Sagad-sagad. Actually, all of us.”
