This Band dedicates Higit Sa Sapat to loved ones

Known for hugot-themed ditties, This Band opted for a different tune this time with the just-dropped Higit Sa Sapat, a wedding love song that was inspired by its members’ respective loved ones.

This Band is composed of lead singer Andrea Manzano, songwriter and guitarist Euwie Von Loria, bassist Miccael Galvan, drummer John Macaranas, lead guitarist Raymart Gubat and keyboardist Melvin Carson.

The conception of Higit Sa Sapat started when Carson came up with the chorus. “In the songwriting process, Andee (Andrea) and Mikki (Miccael) suggested a love song. I started it with the chorus and some verse part of the song while playing instruments with Gubs (Reymart) then Euwie and Andee (added) the verses and bridge. John proofread the song so it really became a team effort,” shared Carson in a virtual call.

“Nakakatuwa naging spontaneous na po siya. As in no pressure. Para siyang naging free-flow song. As in sobrang gaan ng pagkakagawa,” he added.

They also expressed their appreciation for their loved ones who inspired them to put up this track.

“It’s for my future wife and our baby girl (Amarah). My own ‘Higit Sa Sapat’ as I already found mine,” said John.

“Of course, it’s for the love of my life (Edralyn Gealogo). She is the puzzle piece that completes me. She helps me to be a better person,” added Mikki.

“We dedicate Higit Sa Sapat to our respective loved ones,” said Carson. “And syempre dun sa mga taong kahit nasaktan na, nag-hope pa rin sa love. Dahil naniniwala kami na laging darating ang tamang tao para sa atin sa tamang panahon.”

“I dedicate it to my girlfriend and soon-to-be-wife. Siya yung nasa line ng kanta na ‘Ikaw ang sagot sa mga panalangin.’ Dahil siya yung bumuo sa pagkatao ko,” declared Raymart.

On the other hand, Andee imagined the song as a background while “walking down the aisle, you’re feeling the love, and finally facing ‘The One.’”

“I already found ‘The One’ and I think I want to sing this to him every day,” she expressed. “My ‘The One’ is really my inspiration. Actually, when Carson was doing the chorus, na-imagine ko na siya (The One). Tapos nung na-imagine ko na siya, the words, the melody naramdanan ko na din.”

Andee appears to be in love as she plans to tie the knot with her boyfriend three years from now. “Actually, we became a couple before the band started. I joined the band in September… Kung ilang taon yung band, ilang taon din kami.”

This Band has been making good music together for five years now and it plans to continue doing so in the coming years. Carson told The STAR, “We see five years from now that we are still playing music and doing live shows. One of our dreams is that our songs will be featured in a musical play.”

“Ano kayang pakiramdam (How does it feel like)? Like this (musical) called Ang Huling El Bimbo. Grabe yung impact sa amin. As in iyak ka talaga. There is no other response, mapapaiyak ka talaga. We hope we could also reach that point,” he added.

This Band previously released such singles as Kahit Ayaw Mo Na, Hindi Na Nga and Di Na Babalik.
