Mccoy de Leon wishes for job security this 2023  

McCoy de Leon is focused on his daughter Felize. All that he does is for his kid whom he and then partner Elisse Joson welcomed back in 2021 via a surprise reveal to their fans. This was the center of our conversation over the holidays before his explosive admission this week that he already called it quits with Elisse.

He asked for apology to the public as he clarified that there is no third party involved and that conversations that leaked online were fake. We even saw McCoy during the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal last Dec. 27. He came in while the press was interviewing and he ducked as he hurriedly entered the theater for the program.

So just days before this and ringing in the new year, McCoy shared his plans this year. “Andoon pa rin sa adjustment pero ‘di na ganoon na naninibago ako. Gusto ko na talaga mag-ready for the future, to work and save, and iyon din iniisip ko now. And enjoy din habang ganito pa si Felize, malalaro pa kasi mamaya ma-phone na yan o mag-school na i-ne-enjoy ko lang,” he said. He even went as far as thinking about Felize’s college funds that he wishes to secure even though she has not yet started school.

We had several conversations with McCoy over the course of the lockdowns. Topic on job security was always in the picture for the young father. During the pandemic, he also did films such as Yorme: The Isko Domagoso Story, Habangbuhay with Elisse and the Puto comedy series on TV5.

McCoy always hoped for more projects that during our last conversation when he was promoting the box-office top grosser Deleter, which he is a part of, he told us this: “To be honest, noong nakaraan mukha lang busy pero na-miss ko iyong pag-arte. Itong movie pinaka-start at awa ng Diyos sana talaga matuloy. May mga nag-i-inquire na. Isang bagsak talaga sana pagpalain (Hopefully, I will be blessed) next year (2023), with many projects. Ayoko lang din mapahinga. Nakaka-miss (ang) acting, mangangalawang ka kapag wala.”

Besides film acting, McCoy makes an effort to dabble in a business that he said is not far from his showbiz career, and that is video production. He opened Ferris Wheel Production last September with a team of around 40 people.

“Ako ginagawa ko ngayon parang production, nag-invest ako, camera lights yung mga branding namin ako na nag-shoot,” he said. “Ganoon na sa mga kasamahan ko. Technical talaga like YouTube. Ako nag-direct, storyline connected na andoon ako sa film eh. There’s a main editor, main shooter, ganoon na nakaka-event na kami.”

On the official page of his production company, McCoy’s Ferris Wheel Production even has video ads of Elisse and her jewelry line Felizia, which are remnants of their past partnerships.

Though not in his immediate plans to settle down, given the turn of events in his life, McCoy shared that he wants to enter the wedding industry. “Gusto ko talaga mag-start sa mga wedding, pero kailangan i-ready ang sarili ko,” he added.
