Reel-to-real-life sweethearts Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte just celebrated their sixth anniversary and shared that the secret to their long-term relationship is “respect.”

"I always say this: Why we've lasted this long is because we respect each other," said Ronnie on the sidelines of the contract-signing event with the Cathy Valencia Advanced Skin Clinic at its BGC branch. “Never akong naging kontra sa kanya. Never siya na kumontra sa akin. We always discuss stuff and yung decision naman namin nag-ma-match.”

“At ‘tsaka sabay din kaming nag-grow. Yung din yung maganda,” added Loisa.

It also helps that they maintain their relationship “low-key,” especially on social media. So, mas kami ni Ronnie, we choose what to share (on social media)… Kahit maganda, lahat naman ng tao may masasabi, so better low-key na lang.”

Ronnie added that they only post fan updates, promotions and endorsements on their respective social media accounts.

In those six years that they have been together, they also experienced lovers’ quarrels but they always talked them over and patched things up.

Ronnie admitted that there’s no perfect relationship. “So nag-aaway kami, pero ang kagandahan sa amin ‘pag magkaaway tayo, kunwari ngayon nag-aaway kami, kunyari lang po ha, sa sasakyan kunwari nag-away kami, hindi kami baba dito ngayon na hindi kami OK. Dapat laging pinag-uusapan.

“It goes the same with work. Before kami mag-take, at medyo nag-away kami ng konti, kailangan ayusin muna natin bago tayo lumabas. Ayaw namin naapektuhan yung mga ibang tao,” he furthered.

When asked about the age they would settle down and start a family, they said now is not the right time for them as they are more focused on their careers.

Loisa answered, “We are more focused at present, kung ano ngayon. Kasi yung mga ganyan, for sure, it will come. Right now, we are focused sa work and kung ano pa yung pwedeng gawin.”

Ronnie echoed, “It’s really work. Darating yung baby, darating yan.” Then, he quipped, “Pinapangako naman namin sa kanila na pag nagka-baby si Loisa, sa akin yun. Joke lang (laughs). Basta kami chill lang ngayon. Focus kami ngayon sa work, ipon, ipon and sa negosyo na tinatayo namin.”

Meanwhile, the two recounted how they fell victim to “Basag Kotse” gang in Bacoor, Cavite early this month where they lost three mobile phones, including a P1B cryptocurrency saved on their online bank account.

“We came from an event and then, we tried to drop by our café,” narrated Ronnie. “We arrived around 8 p.m. nagsara na yung café. We planned to take pictures of our products and food to be posted on our social media.”

“We left immediately after. Maybe around 9 p.m. during the closing time of our café,” he went on. “When we went outside, basag na yung sasakyan. Ang nakakatakot pa dun is tumambay ako sa may terrace sa may labas, nakatitigan ko pa yung bumasag yung sasakyan namin. I saw his face. (But) hindi ko nakita yung binasag (act) eh.”

“When the cops arrived, hindi ko ma-explain sa kanila kung yun ba talaga yung bumasag. Na-confirm lang po nung ni-reveal na sa CCTV.”

“We lost three cellphones,” recalled Ronnie. “Bangko kasi namin nandun po eh. Ang hirap. Yung mga naka-save namin na ano, meron pa kaming crypto sa phone na wala na. May malaking halaga din (more or less P1B). Medyo nakakalungkot din.”

The incident is still under police investigation, according to Ronnie, and they are still hoping to recover the lost items and that the suspect will be arrested.  “Para wala ng mabi-biktima kasi nakaka-trauma po din talaga yung experience na yun,” stated Loisa.

“Ang iniisip na lang po namin ni Loisa is nabasag yung kotse, those three cellphones, (they) can be replaced. What is important is we are safe. Walang nasaksak, walang nabaril,” said Ronnie.

Security was added in the area and CCTVs were installed to ensure the safety of the place after they reported the incident to the police, shared Ronnie. They also reported the lost cryptocurrency to the bank where they saved it.

Loisa and Ronnie are part of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, My Teacher, helmed by Paul Soriano and starred by Joey de Leon and Toni.
