The season of cheer is now strongly felt here at the Kapuso Network.
As early as the start of November, we have officially ushered in the Christmas season with the launch of our much-anticipated Love is Us this Christmas station ID.
Just like how we look forward to celebrating Christmas and the traditions along with it, the well-loved holiday is never complete without GMA’s yuletide offering. After all, this is our way of saying thanks to our beloved viewers for their unending support for the year that has passed.
The six-minute video, which can be seen on GMA’s official Facebook and YouTube channels, features the different artists and personalities of the network, eagerly celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with family, friends, and fans after spending two Christmases with the limitations of the pandemic.
As part of our Love is Us this Christmas campaign, some of our Kapuso stars also got to reflect on their own interpretations of our holiday theme in a series of videos released on GMANetwork.com.
Dingdong’s better half, Marian Rivera-Dantes, excitedly shared that she will be preparing her special menudo recipe for Noche Buena as part of their annual tradition. “Siyempre magluluto ulit ako ng menudo na turo ng lola ko. Kasi ‘pag Christmas, may kanya-kanya kaming dala ng family na mga specialty namin. For sure ako, menudo ni nanay.”
Carla Abellana shared what “Love is Us this Christmas” means for her. “Dapat ang love nahahanap din natin from the inside. O di kaya, as in lahat tayo collectively grupo-grupo, pami-pamilya, magkakaibigan para love is all around us.”
“Definitely, ‘yung mga mahal ko sa buhay kasi siyempre sila ‘yung bumubuo ng puso ko. Sa bawat araw ko, sila yung iniisip ko, so ‘Love is Us’ meaning sila, kami, lahat tayo,” said Jasmine Curtis-Smith, who also plans to spend the holidays with her loved ones here in the country.
Our very own Maria Clara, Julie Anne San Jose, who also headlines the Love is Us this Christmas theme song, had a modest yet impactful interpretation of this year’s theme. “Ang dahilan kung bakit tayo ginawa ni Lord ay siyempre dahil mahal niya tayo and encompassing ang kanyang pagmamahal for each one of us, so I think that the whole meaning of Christmas is all about love.”
Start-Up PH’s Good Boy Alden Richards looks back on the past few years where most of us experienced isolation from physical contact with the people close to us. “This Christmas and this Christmas station ID goes to show that we really need love to survive, we all need each other, especially in times like this na kapanganakan ni Jesus Christ.”
“It’s also a way of bringing back ‘yung mga panahon na hindi natin nagawa because of the pandemic and it’s a time to be happy and proud that a lot of people and a lot of us are feeling loved all the time,” Alden added and revealed that he plans to spend the holidays with his family in Laguna this year.
Start-Up PH leading lady and Alden’s onscreen partner Bea Alonzo said the first thing that comes to her mind when you say “Love is Us” is: “Nagmumula sa ating mga sarili ang pag-ibig. Ibig sabihin, if we love ourselves, then we can spread love to others. We can love our family and we can spread kindness to the world.”
“We are each other’s gift, especially ngayong Pasko,” that’s how Jessica Soho put it. “Kasi dapat bigyan natin ng pag-asa ang bawat isa, dahil napakahirap nitong ating mga pinagdadaanan. ‘Wag na natin pabigatin pa, gawin nating mas magaan. Spread the love, spread the cheer. Love is Us,” she emphasized.
The Kapuso holiday jingle has been randomly playing in my head for weeks now, and I am honestly not complaining. It’s actually catchy, and it helps uplift the mood. And the best part is, it hits home the message that we truly are the epitome of His love.
Simple yet powerful indeed.
