MANILA, Philippines — Singer Nick Carter of American boyband Backstreet Boys mourned for his younger brother, singer-songwriter Aaron Carter, in an emotional tribute.
In an Instagram post earlier today, Nick shared how devastated he is for Aaron's passing.
"My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded," Nick said.
According to Nick, he never lost hope that one day, his brother would find his way out of drug abuse, insinuating that he tried his best as a big brother to help Aaron.
"I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed."
In the end, Nick said, it is not anyone's fault why Aaron is gone too soon.
"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here."
