'MMK' to re-air popular Susan Roces episode as a tribute to late actress
MANILA, Philippines — The long-running television series "Maalaala Mo Kaya" will pay tribute to the late "Queen of Philippine Movies" Susan Roces by re-airing one of the actress' most popular appearances on the show.
Roces passed away on May 20 from a cardiac arrest at the age of 80 "surrounded by love and warmth of many of her family and close friends,” according to a released statement by the actress' daughter Sen. Grace Poe.
The episode, in particular, is entitled "Basura" wherein Roces portrays a grandmother named Angge who appears to be living a fancy life, but in reality is surrounded by literal trash.

Angge actually lives in a small house with her own garbage collection, thus giving her the title of "scrap queen."
A number of Roces' contemporaries in the entertainment industry like Vilma Santos-Recto, Marciel Soriano, Lorna Tolentino and "Ang Probinsiyano" co-stars Coco Martin, John Pratts, and Sen. Lito Lapid all offered their condolences after hearing the actress' passing last month.
Roces' remains are buried at the Manila North Cemetery beside her husband, fellow actor and National Artist Fernando Poe Jr.
"Basura" can be seen once again this June 25, Saturday, on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live's YouTube channel, ABS-CBN Entertainment's Facebook page, and iWantTFC.
