MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya and Kapuso personalities showed their excitement over ABS-CBN and GMA-7's deal that would start showing Star Cinema films in the Kapuso network.

Former Kapamilya weatherman and now Kapuso Kim Atienza took to his Instagram account to congratulate the partnership.

"The force field is broken. GMA X ABS-CBN! The beginning of many beautiful things to come! The Lord works in mysterious ways!" he wrote.

Reporting the news on “TV Patrol,” Karen Davila and Bernadette Sembrano, both former Kapuso broadcasters, called the deal a “new era.”

"Wow, talaga namang it’s a new era, 'di ba? Congratulations sa ating dalawa," Karen said after the report.

"Sa Star Cinema and GMA," Bernadette added.

In a statement sent to media, ABS-CBN Films managing director Olivia Lamasan said they welcome the collaboration as they thanked GMA-7 for believing in their films.

“We are delighted to have Star Cinema movies be enjoyed by Kapuso viewers through this partnership with GMA. We thank the network for believing in our films and we welcome this collaboration as a great beginning that will inspire us to continue creating stories that will resonate with more Filipinos,” she said.

In a report by Philippine Entertainment Portal, Ai Ai delas Alas said she’s happy with the partnership because her Kapuso fans can now watch her Star Cinema films.

"Masaya ako sa partnership ng GMA-7 at ng ABS-CBN dahil mapapanood na sa Kapuso channel ang mga pelikula ng Star Cinema. Masaya rin ako dahil may chance na ang mga Kapuso na mapanood ang mga pelikula ko noon," she said.

"Sana maging simula na ito para mawala na ang network war kasi noong araw naman, lahat ng mga artista, nakakatawid sa lahat ng mga television station hanggang magkaroon nga ng network war."
