WATCH: David Chua reacts to Kelley Day as alleged 3rd party in Tom Rodriguez, Carla Abellana marriage

MANILA, Philippines — Actor and director David Chua defended his friend Kelley Day after being dragged as the alleged third party in the relationship of Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana.

In Philstar.com’s “Slam Book” show, David said he was surprised to know that Kelly was the alleged third party as he said that the former beauty queen is not that kind of person.

“Nagulat din ako e. Pero alam kong parang may iba e. Ayaw ko lang pangalanan 'yung isang girl na umamin na raw. Ewan ko lang kung totoo kasi napanood ko lang online. Pero ang alam ko hindi si Kelly 'yon,” David said.

“Sa pagkakakilala ko kay Kelly, hindi niya kaya 'yung mga gano'n. Married na si Tom, 'di ba? Sa pagkakakilala ko hindi talaga siya ganoon,” added David, who was also linked to Kelley, but he clarified that they are just friends.

Last January, Kelley denied that she’s the third party involved in the alleged breakup of the Kapuso couple.

Kelley and Tom worked together in the Kapuso teleserye “The World Between Us.”

In her Instagram story, Kelley said she wanted to speak immediately before the issue gets out of hand.

"Many people are speculating about my involvement in a certain rumor/blind item story that seem to have been circulating today. So before things get too out of hand, I'd like to clarify that I have no knowledge of/involvement with the controversy,” she wrote.

"I don't know how or why my name has become linked (i'm surprised too), but what I do know is these accusations about me are false," she added.
