Meg Imperial speaks up about being dragged into Carla & Tom’s ‘marital woes’

The actress has been busy with her business ShoutOut, which ties up with celebrities to give personalized video greetings for a fee and has 10 days to finish the request of the fan.

Stars like Ritz Azul, JM de Guzman, Teejay Marquez and MJ Lastimosa are all in the platform of giving shoutouts as well as allegedly estranged husband and wife Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana. Meg said she started to establish a connection with Tom last January 2021 when she was offered the film, The Last Five Years, on Vivamax. The span of their hangouts was extended as the film had on and off schedules due to the erratic COVID surges last year that affected their filming. They finished the film in the middle of last year and it also paved the way for Meg to establish personal friendship with Tom.

To talk a little bit about their upcoming film, The Last Five Years, which stars Meg and Tom, it revolves around her character Joan who dreams of getting married to her ideal man William (played by Tom) and turns out, she falls for someone who doesn’t believe in marriage at all. The foundation of their relationship will be put to a test of survival through time, particularly the five-year itch. But before it are very passionate scenes, which according to Meg are very necessary in the film.

“Yes, it has a lot of intimate scenes but it calls for it,” she said. “Nabawasan pa nga iyong intended sex scenes kasi nga tight yung schedule.”

All throughout this, Meg was aware of the issues Tom has been dealing with in his personal life. But what’s bizarre for her is there are vlogs and TikTok videos already pinpointing her as an alleged third party.

She said, “Wala pa man akong interviews. I have seen a lot on YouTube and saan galing yung mga video? Nagtataka talaga ako.”

Meg was even the one who brought up her none involvement during our interview because her side deserved to be cleared of the rumors. She also sternly clarified that besides Tom, she also developed a connection with Carla.

“Meron siyang (Tom) pinagdadaanan, so I do not want to approach and I know na private,” Meg said. “I have been friends with them, pareho, constant naman yung communication with both of them since they are both part nung platform that I have mentioned to you before, so doon lang yung naging focus ko.”

In fact, Meg is even taking one for the team as she has been going solo in promoting the film, The Last Five Years, just for the sake of putting out the word on the project even without her leading man.

The actress admitted that doing the press tour solo has indeed been very difficult but she would do everything to make the film work.

“Naintindihan ko naman kung ano yung pinagdadaanan nila. Ako na muna yung ano, I love this film also, so wala naman sakin kung i-promote ko ito,” shared Meg. The film dropped on Vivamax yesterday.

As of now, Carla and Tom are still mum about their real score as a married couple but their social media actions are very telling.

Carla has been documented as liking posts on Tom’s Instagram about allegedly cheating, not caring about the breakup and having the audacity to not take action after leaving a wife. Tom has yet to issue a statement, but his Instagram’s comments section is now deactivated. Let’s see where this goes.
