MANILA, Philippines — Beauty queen and actress Kelley Day denied that she’s the third party involved in the alleged breakup of Kapuso couple Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana.
Kelley and Tom worked together in the Kapuso teleserye “The World Between Us.”
In her Instagram story, Kelley said she wanted to speak immediately before the issue gets out of hand.
"Many people are speculating about my involvement in a certain rumor/blind item story that seem to have been circulating today. So before things get too out of hand, I'd like to clarify that I have no knowledge of/involvement with the controversy,” she wrote.
"I don't know how or why my name has become linked (i'm surprised too), but what I do know is these accusations about me are false," she added.
She also denied that she’s pregnant that’s why she went to United Kingdom.
"Truth: I've travelled to the Uk to attend the funeral of a family member, and to spend time with my UK-based family. I'm not pregnant (nor have I ever been). I have never had anything close to romantic involvement/interest with the person,” she said.
"I have, and always will the utmost respect for the Couple. They have always treated me with kindness. I hope this clears up the false rumors involving me. So much fake news out there nowadays. I hope we can take more caution with what we choose to believe online," she added.
Kelley’s name surfaced in the issue after veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin dropped a clue on who is the alleged third party in the Tom and Carla relationship.
“Day, dyusko day. Ang apelyido niyan ay puwedeng Monday at mga susunod pang araw. Nako... Naging miss chuchuchuchu sa tourism... Ang apelyido niya, Lunes hanggang Biyernes, Linggo, Lunes, Martes," Cristy said in her program.
