Mars Pa More marks ‘new beginning’ with Camille, Iya & Kuya Kim

Camille Prats and Iya Villania officially welcome Kim Atienza today to Mars Pa More. Kuya Kim, also known as Kuya ng Bayan, is the family-oriented show’s new host, who will join the Mars in presenting fun and exciting segments. With that, the show’s title now is Mars Pa More with Pars Kim Atienza.

With Mars and a Pars in one show, audiences are in for a different kind of entertainment and information source. They will agree that the more the merrier and three is never a crowd.

“I think this was something Cams (Camille) and I never saw coming,” said Iya of Kuya Kim’s inclusion in the show in a recent virtual media call. “But it was such a pleasant surprise, kasi nga naman masyado tayong maka-Mars Mars. It’s so refreshing to have the opinion of a Pars. At tsaka hindi lang opinion ng kung sino-sinong Pars lang, opinion ni Kuya Kim. Kung anuman ang lumabas sa bibig niya, maniniwala kami (Whatever he says, we will believe it).” Iya was referring to the TV personality’s known side as a trivia expert, aside from his being a long-time weatherman. It has made him a credible host.

“When they told us that Kuya Kim would be a part of the show, it was really unexpected. It was a surprise to us,” shared Camille. “Kasi nga siyempre ang intindi namin Mars, but Kuya Kim is a Pars. But we (Iya and I) realized, along the way and while our PM (production manager) was talking to us about it, and which got us more excited, that Mars Pa More not only wants to cater to mothers out there, but also to kids. So Kuya Kim is definitely the one, who’s gonna be sharing all his trivia, lahat ng kaalaman niya.”

His presence is seen to sit well with the young and entice Pars, the male viewers, to join the show’s conversations.

“Meron nang magtatayo ng bandila nila (There’s someone who will represent them),” added Camille on Kuya Kim’s other role, especially in segments with the “He Says, She Says” format.

Although he knew that Mars Pa More would be one of his shows as a Kapuso personality, Kuya Kim said, “I wasn’t expecting this show to be this fun actually.” The realization happened when he began taping episodes with Iya and Camille. He came to know that the show is indeed enjoyable to do. The three hosts clicked right away.

As everybody knows, Kuya Kim is Iya and Drew Arellano’s wedding godparent. He was looking at the possibility of collaborating with Drew in a show, given that they are doing the same things. “Eh si Iya pala ang naka-tadhanang makasama ko sa dalawang shows,” said Kuya Kim. The ninong and the inaanak are also part of the 24 Oras newscast. It’s a pleasure for both Kuya Kim and Iya to share the same working space and screen.

Doing Mars Pa More, however, is another way for Kuya Kim to get to know Iya more, beyond the projects they did in the past and the triathlon world in which they are part of. He and the Arellano couple would attend sports events in places around the world.

“I’m just so overwhelmed that God has been so good to me,” said Kuya Kim, who has another show, Dapat Alam Mo!, on GTV. “The timing was so impeccable. The transition was so seamless and now, there’s Mars Pa More pa.”

Given his stamina for engaging in endurance sports, Kuya Kim is a picture of zest for life. His secret, perhaps, is enjoying each moment and savoring the chance to entertain and inform audiences.

“The mood is play,” said he of his working experience on the Mars Pa More set. “It’s not work, naglalaro lang kami, and then tapos na (we are like playing, and the next thing we know it, we’re done). After a few minutes, tapos na pala yung isang oras na nagawa namin. We do three (episodes) per taping day.”

What viewers can also look forward to, according to Iya, are segments of Kuya Kim. “(They are) kaabang-abang,” said she. “Out of the three hosts, si Kuya Kim kasi yung makakalabas. He will be able to bring us to different restaurants, different places. He will have more personal encounters with your favorite Kapuso stars like pupunta siya sa garahe, sa gym ng mga Kapuso stars.”

Aside from that, he will be the show’s resident game master, added Camille. “Sometimes, he gets to join the games. What’s fun about Mars Pa More, there are so many things one can do, like from tsika (talk) to games, cooking and pa-trivia (sharing interesting information courtesy of) Kuya Kim.”

Besides his segments, Kuya Kim also invited viewers to check out Mars/Man of the Hour, which features kababayan abroad and their accomplishments; Mars and Pars of the World; and Benta Box. Talks on physical fitness are also part of the lineup. Other segments are Lightning Laglagan and Pasabog Na Chika.

With Kuya Kim joining Camille and Iya in the show, Mars Pa More has marked a new beginning, replete with new possibilities in making everyone’s morning fun and exciting.

“It’s bigger and better in all aspects,” said Iya.
