Pinay CEO partners anew with Miss Universe
US-based Filipina skin care specialist Olivia Quido-Co said she is hoping to meet Heart Evangelista one day when The STAR asked who among Filipino celebrities she’s been wanting to see up close and personal and invite to her skincare clinic.
The Kapuso actress, content creator, animal lover and fashionista exudes beauty and glamour that can easily make heads turn whether she’s in her most stunning signature wardrobe or in her simplest getup.
During the virtual media con held last Oct. 23, Olivia, a.k.a. Miss O, declared, “Talagang s’ya ‘yung gustong-gusto kong makita si Heart because I love how she presents herself at kung paano siya mag-alaga sa sarili.”
She, too, admires the beauty of Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano, whom she sees as a beauty queen material.
“She’s my No. 1 in the list. I think she’s going to be a good asset. Ang galing mag-salita, napakaganda ng mukha, ang tangkad. I think she has a very good chance if she were to join beauty pageants,” said Miss O whose skincare line is the official partner of the 70th Miss Universe competition set on Dec. 12 in Eilat, Israel.
Miss O, CEO and founder of L.A.-based O Skin Med Spa, expressed delight over her collaboration with the prestigious beauty pageant for the third time.
“Pilipinas na naman ang mag-aalaga sa skin nila (candidates). That’s not all, they (Miss Universe Organization) also want me to come up with a skin care line for them to promote all over the world. Miss Universe skin care by Olivia Quido ‘yun ang next na nakalagay (label),” she remarked.
The licensed esthetician furthered that this year’s Miss Universe Beauty Day is going to be different because she will be launching her special products to them.
“These will give them a glassy-look skin. When they put the product on their face, kikintab ang mga face nila, so I am excited about that,” she said.
The products are safe for all skin types, she stressed “since we are sourcing our ingredients from the seven continents.”
Asked if she had already met this year’s Philippine representative Beatrice Luigi Gomez, Miss O replied in the affirmative and shared, “I was able to interview her prior to winning Miss Universe Philippines. I was able to interview all the 30 delegates from MUPH pero hindi ko pa s’ya sobrang ka-kilala. I think when we get to Israel, we’re going to have a bonding time with Miss Universe Philippines Bea Gomez.”
Just like in the two previous Miss Universe editions, Miss O promises to share to all the followers of her YouTube Channel titled The Miss O Show her interviews with the new batch of Miss Universe candidates.
In fact, netizens tuned in to her show also expressed happiness over Miss O’s stint at the Miss Universe Colombia pageant as president of Jury Selection Committee. Its grand coronation was held last Oct. 18 in Bogota, where Valeria Ayos was named Colombia’s representative to the 2021 Miss Universe. It can be recalled that Valeria also represented her country at the 2018 Miss Earth held in Manila and won the Miss Earth-Water.
Miss O said of Valeria: “Tumira s’ya (Valeria) sa Pilipinas for one month and a half. She fell in love with the food, the people. She said her experience in the Philippines was amazing since they traveled to different places.
“Then after that, she returned to her country but went back to the Philippines for another month and a half. So, she was there for a total of three months.”
Meeting different women who represent their respective countries all the more makes Miss O feel empowered as a woman. Her profession has allowed her to make women feel and look beautiful.
“I think what’s most fulfilling to me is when I see my clients gain self-confidence kasi lalong gumanda ‘yung faces nila because they’re using my products,” she said. “I believe that once you start taking care of yourself, it will have a domino effect na ‘pag gumanda ‘yung mukha, magiging maganda rin ‘yung outlook in life.”
