Markki Stroem doesn’t talk much about how he feels for people greatly affected by the disruption of work due to the pandemic. But his intention to lend a helping hand is evident in his all-out support for the shirt brand Evry.
The actor graced the brand’s formal launch held recently and streamed live via Evry’s Facebook page.
“(Among) the people that the company is trying to help out are those who got retrenched,” said Markki, and mentioning in particular the ABS-CBN employees who lost their jobs as a result of the network franchise denial. He considers them as members of his family or Kapamilya. “We are trying as many as we can to give back.”
In fact, Evry has been working with a community-based company that helps provide work for sewers, displaced from their previous jobs because of the ongoing health crisis. Each purchase one makes, a percentage goes into the scholarship fund of the sewers’ children.
The brand is so cool because it gives ease and comfort when dressing up for work or leisure.
“We set out to create a shirt that’s actually worthy of being worn daily with the comfort, style and durability that you can expect out of an everyday shirt,” said Evry co-owner Wesley Que.
For his part, Markki said he is not fond of wearing outfits that show off the brand name.
“I also don’t like logos on my shirt and that’s why I like this shirt (Evry) because you can go out without logo to flaunt around. It’s just a casual plain shirt that we can just enjoy without anyone saying, ‘Oh, that’s this brand’ or ‘That’s that brand.’”
Evry, inspired by business icons, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg, supports the simplified way of deciding what to wear every day and pushes for increased productivity.
“Our custom-made FLO fabric is designed to move with you. It flows and stretches while still being durable and anti-wrinkle,” Que said and stressed that the shirt is of finest material.
He added, “Made with some of the best pima cotton in the world, our fabric is stretchy and it wrinkles much less than the others because of how FLO fabric stretches and flows. Extra care has been taken in each step of the sewing process.” This kind of feature allows the shirt to match different body types.
Apart from Markki, other celebrities who support Evry are Ariel Rivera, Hero Angeles, Migs Bustos and Jed Madela. Its brand ambassadors are Patricia Reyes, Josh Holganza, Ajay Olaita, Gab Gajita, Janica Reloxe, Johannes Rissler and Dan Delgado.
