One year (last 2-20-2021) into married life and Mrs. Matteo Guidicelli (nee Sarah Geronimo) claims that it’s “parang single life din, pero iba ang saya...”
As a housewife (she and Matteo have just moved from a condo unit into a house with a big garden), Sarah has learned how to bake and to tend to her garden (she and Matteo are plantita/plantito). Don’t ask when they are having a baby.
Except in her new endorsements, the public hasn’t seen much of Sarah (unlike Matteo who has been busy hosting Viva Entertainment shows like Masked Singer Philippines and Born To Be A Star, both on TV5).
But on March 27 (8 p.m. this coming Saturday), Sarah is starring in Tala: The Film Concert (produced by Viva Entertainment) which will be released in digital platform. Directed by Paul Basinilio, with Louie Ocampo as musical director and Georcel Dapat-Sy as choreographer, the concert will feature surprise guests. (Get your tickets at ktx.ph or call Viva for inquiries at [02]8687-7236.)
Did you ever imagine that Tala would be a huge hit?
“Tala was released in 2015. Back then, it didn’t yet have the choreography from G-Force but my vision for it was to become a dance craze one day.”
What do you think is the message of Tala and why it clicked?
“The song can be interpreted in many ways, maraming facets. it can be a heartbreak song, a hopeful song or a feel-good song. Pero I think it really clicked when the LGBT community started to appreciate and promote it, especially sa social media platforms.”
Tala the concert is your first during the pandemic. How are you adjusting to it?
“It’s a different experience. It’s like a music video shoot. It can be hard performing without an audience; it is challenging but you always have to find the fun in it.”
How different do you think it will be from a concert with a live audience?
“It is a film concert. Parang everyone who will watch has a backstage pass kasi they will see everything, from how it started and how it materialized. It’s my way of connecting to my audience and to everyone who has become a part of my journey in the industry. It’s different from my previous shows with live audience but we made sure everyone will feel like he or she gets the best seat.”
What will be the format and, aside from the Tala song, what are the other songs in the repertoire?
“It will air simultaneously on KTX.PH, IWANTtfc and SKY pay per view. Mark the date: March 27, 8 p.m.
“I perform some of my favorite original and cover songs.”
Did you choose the songs and has your outlook in life changed now that you are married?
“Yes, I handpicked the songs with my team’s approval din naman. Hehehehe! These are the songs that I really enjoy performing! And yes po, definitely may nabago sa pananaw ko o outlook sa buhay now that I am married because now I have a partner in life, one whom I will build my own family with one day.”
How is married life so far?
“Parang single life din, pero iba ang saya dahil may katuwang ka na sa buhay at iba din ang kalakip na challenges nito.”
You and Matteo are plantita and plantito. Experts said that it’s good to talk to your plants...
“Kinakausap? Sige, try ko po kantahan. Sana lumago! Hehehehe!!!”
You are also into baking. Do you hum or sing while baking?
“More than singing, it’s more of listening to my favorite kinds of music, depends kung ano po mood ko. Hehehehe!!!”
Do you and Matteo rehearse (singing) together?
“Yes po, lalo na kapag may performance kami na gagawin together. We are each other’s critic and supporter.”
Aside from planting (being a plantita) and baking, what else did you learn during this pandemic?
“Cooking healthy food and running my own household! Hahahaha, challenging!”
In three words, describe Matteo as a husband.
“Loving, patient and responsible.”
