How stars and friends abroad are coping with COVID-19 (Fourth of a series)
On lockdown like everybody else, stars and friends living abroad are trying to cope in the time of COVID-19. Quarantined at home, they follow almost the same routine (and trying to find rhythm and reason in it) very much like we do back home. Let’s find out how they are faring out there.
? Krista Ranillo and Niño Lim, Valencia, California
Krista: “The kids’ school is currently on distance learning so I am doing school work with them daily. I try to incorporate something fun and also a little bit of exercise for the kids. Some days we cook, do crafts, yoga or even do Tiktok! I mix it up so they are always learning something new. I feel like I have a mini-classroom with the five kids!
“Niño is still very busy at work making sure the stores (a chain of supermarkets) are well-stocked, clean and safe for both the employees and customers. The demand for rice has gone up so he had to develop an online rice reservation system to make it easier for people to get rice. Aside from that, he also prioritizes seniors, health workers, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals by providing them their own shopping time in the morning. He’s constantly trying to come up with ways to meet the needs of the people. He literally works day and night!
“We are taking extra vitamins for the immune system and are staying at home. We stopped going on walks in the neighborhood to minimize exposure. When Niño goes to the stores, he wears his mask and practices social distancing. We also wash our hands all day long! Last but definitely not the least, we pray the rosary daily and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy for Mama Mary’s protection.
“With prayers and God’s mercy, we will all get through this together. Take care!”
