After the shoot of Huk, the lead stars, George Montgomery and Mona Freeman, were honored with a barrio fiesta at the Crystal Bowl of Avenue Hotel in downtown Manila, Nov. 12, 1955. Cast and crew shot Huk for a month in Zambales and Subic Bay.
Huk was a United Artists first venture with Filipino producers.
The guests came in barong tagalog and balintawak.
The guest list was composed of movie stars, producers, theater managers.
George and Mona departed the following day, Nov. 13, taking with them the goodwill and affection of their hosts.
George came back to the Philippines to shoot other movies. — RKC
