A merry and bright Kapuso Christmas in Los Angeles
It was two hours of singing, dancing and purely having fun with the Kapuso stars Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas, Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha and The Clash first grand champion Golden Cañedo.
With a stage filled with dazzling lights, the All 4 You: The Clash Concert presented a world-class concert like no other, with extraordinary performances ranging from ballads, serenades, K-pop numbers and Christmas songs. But more than the magnificent entertainment, what the Pinoys felt last Oct. 19 at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center was the spirit of celebrating Christmas at home.
“Masaya. Nakakatuwa kasi ang pinakamasaya doon ay ‘yung nakita namin ‘yung tao — nag-e-enjoy talaga sila. It was a very fulfilling feeling that we were able to make our kababayan over there very happy. They were laughing, they were dancing, especially at the end,” shared Lani who enchanted the crowd with her singing prowess and left the Kapuso abroad wanting for more.
The musical celebration was even made more festive by Christian and Golden who gave the crowd a stellar performance of power ballads and classic OPM songs.
“We all had a good time. It’s the first time I performed with The Clash panel as performers and my second time with Golden, and she really performed well. Ms. Lani is amazing and Ms. Ai-Ai is funny as always,” said Christian. He was celebrating his birthday during the day of the concert and was surprised with a birthday cake by her co-stars on stage.
Ai-Ai’s humorous act was also a big hit among the crowd. Donning a blue gown and blonde hair, she stepped on the stage as Elsa from Frozen and sang Let It Go, complete with magical snow coming out of her hands.
“Lahat kami ay naging masaya at nakapagbigay kami ng ligaya sa ating kapwa Pilipino sa abroad lalong lalo na ngayong malapit na mag-Pasko. Sana naramdaman nila ang saya at diwa ng Pasko,” said Ai-Ai.
Ai-Ai, Christian and Lani also tried to do a dance and song cover of Kill This Love by Blackpink that brought a roar of laughter from the audience, especially when Ai-Ai tried to make up the words to the Korean hit song.
Coinciding with the celebration of the Filipino-American History Month, each artist also performed with a selected group of Filipinos from Southern California to celebrate the wonderful talents of the Kapuso abroad.
The night ended in a happy and funny Christmas tune with Ai-Ai, dressed in a Christmas tree outfit, along with Christian, Lani and Golden, singing a Christmas medley for the Filipino-American crowd. It was a wonderful and heart-warming advanced Christmas gift from the Kapuso network where everybody was filled with glee.
“When we sang a medley of the timeless Filipino Christmas hits, everyone stood up. Everybody sang along. We’re so thankful that they joined us and that they are willing to spend time with us. We really hope that their Christmas will be fun and family-filled,” ended Christian.
