MANILA, Philippines — A recent alleged cheating scandal made actors Bea Alonzo, Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto among the most anticipated stars at the ABS-CBN Ball red carpet in Shangri-La The Fort in Taguig City last Saturday night.

Would Bea, Gerald and Julia attend the ball after the fiasco? Would Gerald escort Bea or Julia? Would they come with different dates? These were among the questions that loomed in the heads of those that followed the real-life drama that unfolded among the three. Well, here is what happened at the red carpet.

Bea came in powerful in a regal black and lacey Jun Escario creation.

“It’s like a Spanish señorita,” she said of the inspiration behind her one-shoulder gown with an oversized butterfly sleeve, a modern variation of the Terno.

“So that we could showcase Spanish influence in the Philippines,” she explained in an exclusive interview with Philstar.com.

When asked why she was alone at the red carpet, Bea said: “Yes! Alam mo, I just realized, it’s my first time to actually walk the red carpet alone after 10 years. So it feels great naman.”

Later that night, Bea was hailed Best Dressed Female. Richard Gutierrez won it for the male category. Bea and Richard are set to do a new TV series and a movie together.

“I had such a wonderful time being at the ABS-CBN ball last night. I have to say, it was one of my most memorable nights,” Bea declared on Instagram.

“Thank you Jun Escario @junescario for making this beautiful dress and @pamquinones @qurator_studio for creating this look! I really felt like a spanish señorita!” she enthused.

“Thank you also @tingduque @hairbybrentsales and @mimsqiu for making me look like a million bucks! I love you guys!! We won best dressed.”

When Julia walked on the red carpet, a member of the press described her Rajo Laurel gown as “angelic.”

“You know what, I full-heartedly trusted Rajo for this whole gown and I’m so happy and enjoying it,” she told the press of her off-white terno.

“It’s very empowering, actually. It’s empowering,” she said when Philstar.com asked her how it felt to be on the red carpet unaccompanied.

“Last night I had the honor of wearing a Philippine Terno for the very first time in my life. It was a beautiful @rajolaurel Filipiniana gown featuring individually hand-painted sampaguitas with encrusted seed pearls and crystals,” she said on Instagram.

“My personal goal for this look was simple that is to show respect to our national dress by letting it be the one to shine.”

Unlike Bea and Julia who walked alone, Gerald came in with his fellow actors who also went on a recent army training with him for a new TV series, "A Soldier's Heart."

“This is a classic Barong. I wanted to stay true to our national costume. Si Joey Espiritu ‘to,” he said of his Barong Tagalog, which came in military green, matching those of his fellow actors from their upcoming soap opera, where they would portray soldiers.

“I came with my friends, bodyguards, boss,” he quipped.

None of the stars mentioned about the recent brouhaha among them.
