G Force's Teacher Georcelle reacts to GirlTrends' unsynchronized 'Showtime' performances

MANILA, Philippines — G-Force founder and choreographer Teacher Georcelle Dapat-Sy said she felt sad about the trending video of GirlTrends, which recently drew flak on social media because of their unsynchronized dance number on noontime show “It’s Showtime.”

Speaking with MJ Felipe on his DZMM show, Georcelle said she knew there were reasons why the dance number went that way, but it was not an excuse.

“Someone showed me the video. Actually nakakalungkot dahil may reason malamang kung bakit nangyari 'yon. But again, they performed on TV and that's not an excuse. You said yes to a project dapat ibigay mo 'yung all,” Georcelle said.

"But on the other hand, we know how these artists work. When you're 'hot' ang dami mong projects na sunod-sunod... Ang GT are not honed to be professional dancers,” she added.

She added that they should make it a point to commit in the dance number and a lot of rehearsals before they perform onstage.  

"I think nagkulang lang sa time management, so pagdating ng ensayo nagkukulang. So ang sa akin, time management. And when you commit, i-full out na... Dito sa pagkakataon na binibigay ng 'Showtime' kailangan nilang paghusayan," she said.

Recently, Teacher Georcelle collaborated with cosmetics brand BYS to launch the new M.O.V.E. new lipstick range, composed of eight matte shades, ranging from muted hues to bright and dark reds. The lipsticks are reportedly formulated to endure rigorous dance routines. Also available in creamy matte finishes, the lipsticks are housed in brass, silver and black bullet cases that double as a necklace.

Last January, GT member Sammie Rimando defended her group on Twitter, saying that they only practiced their dance routine on the same day as the show.

"I hope you understand na hindi madali mag aral ng sayaw ng same day, lalo na’t marami kaming episode na tinetape nung araw na yan. Pasensya na kung di kami sabay sabay, pero bakit pag sabay sabay kami wala kayong sinasabi? Bt kung kelan lang kami nagkakamali?" she said.
