Healthy is the new sexy

Body Talk with Yassi Pressman and Matteo Guidicelli who are behind the Watsons Protection Campaign.

Body Talk caught up with Matteo Guidicelli and Yassi Pressman at the sidelines of a recent Facebook live broadcast that they did for the Watsons Protection Campaign.

Both Matteo and Yassi are very fit. Matteo is a triathlete who recently went through a 30-day scout ranger training. In his latest movie, Mina-Anud, he surprised the Cinemalaya audience with his impressive sexy performance as a commercial model who sidelines as seller of cocaine during elite parties that he hosts.

A regular in the top-rating/long-running ABS-CBN adventure series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Yassi is a great dancer who, like Matteo, also works out regularly. They seriously are on top of their game, looks- and career-wise.

But Matteo and Yassi don’t just have beautiful bodies but also beautiful minds. They believe that the body should be nourished and protected inside and out. They eat well but not excessively so. They take vitamins daily and exercise regularly.

They talk about how they protect their bodies, their sleeping habits and all the other things that make them tick.

A Taurus (May 11, 1995), Yassi stands 5’3”; weighs 118 lbs.; measures 34-25-36; and wears small/medium dress/shirt and size-7 shoes.

An Aries (March 26, 1990), Matteo stands at 5’10.5”; weighs 163 lbs.; wears medium-sized shirt and size-8.5 shoes; and is well-proportioned at 47” (chest), 30” (waist) and 17” (arms/biceps).

Do you believe in the saying “a sound mind in a sound body?”

Matteo: Whatever you project in your mind, it resonates in your body and movements so the mind is very powerful.

Yassi: No, I don’t.

You look perfect enough but are you really happy with the kind of body that you have?

Matteo: I guess so, yes. You have to embrace what you have. I always tell my friends that you are unique, everybody is unique, and you have to embrace it and enjoy it…and love it.

Yassi: Yes, I’m happy. But there’s always room for improvement that will make you happier if that is your goal.

Showbiz is a demanding field that hardly leaves any room for “me” time. How do you keep a balance between your “public” self and your “private” self?

Yassi: I don’t have a specific diet but when I’m preparing for a role, I cut down on food. I am having ramen tonight, if you guys want to know. But tomorrow, I’m behaving so there’s always a balance for me.

Yassi: For me, family time is really my “me” time.

Matteo: Like what Yassi said, my “me” time is with family. By the way, I found a new love in the army. I also ask three or four days to go to the mountains and just spend time there. It’s something that makes you appreciate life more.

What sort of diet do you follow?

Yassi: I don’t have a specific diet but when I’m preparing for a role, I cut down on food. I am having ramen tonight, if you guys want to know. But tomorrow, I will behave so there’s always a balance for me. I can’t go on a strict diet, not yet.

Matteo: Same also. I love Italian food so I eat a lot of carbs and I make sure to I exercise a lot.

How much water do you take per day?

Yassi: My goal is to drink five tumblers a day, but sometimes I forget.

Matteo: Water is very important. You have to hydrate yourself. I don’t know how much but I drink a lot.

What workout do you do?

Matteo: I run a lot.

Yassi: (No answer)

What part of your body is most vulnerable?

Yassi: My underarms because I think they are connected to my self-confidence. That is why I love Nivea so much because it saves me.

Matteo: My skin. For help, I turn to my best friend…the Nivea deep-facial wash.

Favorite part of your body?

Yassi: My face.

Matteo: My underarms.

What part of a guy’s/girl’s body do you notice first?

Yassi: The smile, of course….if you consider it a body part, hahaha!!! Kapag bad boys, I look at their eyes.

Matteo: I have to say underarms. For a guy, underarms is something. Kapag maganda ‘yung kili-kili, well, alam mo ‘yon? Automatic!

How much sleep do you get per night?

Yassi: I don’t get to sleep that much anymore.

Matteo: (No answer)

Matteo: Yes, I believe in the saying ‘a sound mind in a sound body.’ Whatever you project in your mind, it resonates in your body and your movements; the mind is very powererful.

How many pillows do you sleep with?

Yassi: A lot of pillows.

Matteo: I have a special pillow talaga, very very cool with a special mattress called Uratex.

Last thing that you do before you go to sleep?

Matteo: I pray. I’m really serious. It’s automatic. Also, hygiene because hygiene is very, very important. I wash my face and I apply deodorant before I sleep. I shower.

Yassi: (No answer)

And the first thing that you do as soon as you wake up?

Yassi: I check my phone to see what time it is. I am a very deep sleeper. Am I late? Am I ready for the day? Is it early? Can I sleep more?

Matteo: I try to not anymore check my phone because I develop a headache whenever I check my phone when it’s super dark and then the brightness is high. But I still use my phone to check the time because before I use my phone and spend time on Instagram and Twitter and I spend another 10 minutes, I get a headache. So, I just check the time and stand up.

How do you relax or cope with stress?

Yassi: I release it first in the room. After that, I need to see my friends or see important people in my life to remind me how great life is.

Matteo: (No answer)

Name three guys/girls that you think have nice bodies.

Matteo: Of course, the Nivea endorser Yassi Pressman! And also Nico Bolzico and his wife Solenn Heussaff. (Trivia: Solenn is expecting.)

Yassi: The Nivea endorser named Matteo Guidicelli, hahaha!!! And Beyoncé and Jason Momoa.

Using only body language, how would you make a guy/girl know that you admire him/her?

Yassi: Through hugs. I hug them.

Matteo: Through eye-to-eye contact.
